Jakob Bro - September Song

Jakob Bro - December Song

Part three of the trilogy, simply beautiful, love the addition of Craig Taborn's piano in the third album, loved the drum playing of Paul Motion on the first album, love the composition of Jakob Bro and the "instantaneous improvisation" of the musicians. Not exactly sure why I'm so attracted to this collect, just when I listen, I know I'm smiling.

Billy Idol. Greatest Hits. On CD from 2001. Billy's music was fun in its time and place and is still brimming with high energy as I hear it tonight. A great vocalist with a talent for smithing pop tunes.

I heard these guys the first time live as supporting act of Dream Theater and was not touched by their music, too raw etc I found during the concert. I guess the amplification was not working into their advantage. Since then a lot has changed, while they are still raw and loud, they are also brilliant or more so the frontman of the band Mr Gildenlow who can also be heard on live albums of transatlantic. I am now listening to their third album a masterpiece - a progressive metal concept album. I have added the wiki description below...

"The album is in a way a blend of the two earlier albums, with the groove and originality of Entropia and the focus, thoroughness and production of One Hour by the Concrete Lake. However, it will be quite unique as an album."[citation needed]

Analysis Edit

The Perfect Element, Part I is the first part of a planned, two-piece concept, and is divided into three chapters, each containing four tracks.

Part one of the concept is a story human development, which focuses specifically on the progression from childhood to adolescence. It contains many themes within its context; which include but are not limited to:

Child abuse (sexual and physical)
Sexuality
Tragedy
Drug abuse
Love
Pain
Anger
Loss (of life and innocence, among other things)
Shame
Regret
Despair
Inner struggles
All these themes are dealt with as the story explores the lives of two characters, one male and one female (known commonly as "He" and "She") who are broken, dysfunctional people. They meet in the events of the song "Ashes" after the first two songs of the album present us with a depiction of their troubled pasts ("Used" for "He" and in "In the Flesh" for "She"). After that introduction, the concept focuses on the inner struggles and feelings of the characters after the events on "Ashes", and we also have some memory flashes, telling us more about their pasts and revealing what events in their lives caused them to become what they are, finally ending with the "falling" of He on the last song, "The Perfect Element".

With the Beatles

Just played this on my Loricraft refurbished TD124 Mk 2 (photo on System Pics https://forums.naimaudio.com/to...78#71539985819138578) and compared sound to my Rega RP10/Aphelion/Aria, which makes a beautiful sound - I prefer the Thorens because the Rega sound is harder.

The 282 is in mono mode for both. I thought I would need a mono cartridge rather the Dynavector DV-10X5 on the Thorens to get the sound I remember.

Does anyone have an explanation.

It's always nice to give early Curved Air a bit of an outing.

Melody Gardot - Currency of Man

Melody Gardot - Currency of Man

After seeing the mention from MDS and then the comment from STEVEE_S, I needed to give this album a listen.

From the opening track with the voice, she had me, the musicians backing up Melody are wonderful. Hopefully the rest of the album keeps getting better, very nice.
