2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
A wonderful vinyl pressing of the legendary '62 BBC Maida Vale sessions on the splendid Gearbox label.

In your Avatar photo, it looks like Sid is in the middle of his obligatory "Phooooaaaaarr" exclamation. Classic Sid.
Hyuk, hyuk, hyuk.
On Vinyl
Now Playing......
Iron & Wine - The Creek Drank The Cradle
Enjoyed the first album and since it is a busy day, I find the music easy to listen to with what I have on my plate in front of me.
On Vinyl
Just read the news that the V&A is extending the PF exhibition by a few more weeks, so successful has it been. So I thought I'd play this classic Japanese vinyl LP. Far out!
WAV CD Rip. Graham Parker snarling his anger over an inspired Rumour, Brinkley Schwartz playing searing spiky riffs, post-punk pub rock at its finest. A set of fantastic songs brilliantly played, an album I've listened to since it came out, still think it's a great album.
Drawn to lissie once again watching her perform in the 'Roadhouse' in Twin Peaks the Return . Apparently David Lynch is a huge fan , I can see and hear why .
WAV CD Rip, and a complete change from the Graham Parker. 12th century choral religious music from Abbess Hildegard of Bingen, brilliantly performed by Emma Kirkby and Gothic Voices. The music is sophisticated and beautiful, it is good for the soul.
And now from the sublime to the (intentionally) ridiculous. Tom Lehrer's satirical songs still bring a smile or a wince 50-60 years after their composition, Wehrner Von Braun is still the most scathing attack I know, and I Hold Your Hand in Mine is the most amusingly macabre song I have heard. As he proudly says in a song intro. on this live album "I know it's very bad form to quote one's own reviews, but there is something the New York Times said about me that I have always treasured: 'Mr. Lehrer's muse is not fettered by such inhibiting factors as taste.'"
Playing Now......
Patti Smith - Easter
A mention from RAIDER previously of two albums reminded me I haven't listened to Pattie Smith in quite awhile. Streaming from Tidal.....
Streaming Tidal. Tambourine is the second album by alternative country artist Tift Merritt. It was released in 2004 by Lost Highway Records, and earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album.
Streaming Tidal. Agitation Free - Shibuya Nights. For the musically adventurous.
Now Playing.....
Bryan Adams - Waking Up The Neighbours
Wednesday evening and I needed some loud music - Bryan responded!
On Deck, in the queue......
Shibuya Nights - Agitation Free
ERICH mentioned that this album is "For the musically adventurous." I'm in, if nothing else this thread has lead me to a lot of music that I would not have listened to until someone mentioned the band, the musician, the group, the song, ........ its all been pretty much spot on and worth the time to listen.

Erich, Outstanding album, thoroughly enjoyed it! Many thanks for the mention/recommendation.....
Not sure TONY2011 would enjoy it since we don't share the same taste in music!
Now playing......
Tift Merritt - Tambourine
ERICH knocked one out of the park already so going with another of his mentions/recommendation!
And now for something completely different...
A sensitive version...
Always entertaining.....
Some beautiful melodies on this.
