2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
William Tyler: Modern Country. Bandcamp download.
Rather good instrumental Americana from the sometime Lambchop guitarist.
Oasis, Definitely Maybe. WAV CD Rip.
Another album not played in a very long time, mainly due to the SQ. Listening to it on my Naim kit, it has now come alive for me. Live Forever is superb.
Bennie Wallace: Mystic Bridge. With Chick Corea on piano.

Breaking Habits by Mellor, Golyyzniak and Duda
Thanks for flagging this one up Simon, just given it a run through on Tidal and enjoyed it.
Hi Steve, I did wonder if you'd pick up on this one. For me, the first 2 tracks are OK, after that I love it.

Haken's latest release in April last year, it was a good follow up to Mountain. Its a shame that this London prog influenced metal band don't get the recognition they should here, yet in Germany, Holland and the Scandies they are very well thought of.
"Affinity is a stunningly powerful masterpiece, where the technical skills of the band members are continuously challenged. The innovative sounds in the form of the wave and synths from the 80s are implemented in an unprecedented way in the complex structures of Haken's music. Hereby the vocals are perfectly connected to the musical layers, from the quiet and atmospheric parts to the fierce and powerful parts. In addition, the music evokes the emotions of the profound lyrics. With each release they manage to connect a piece of innovation to their own compositions and Affinity is produced re-tight together. The mighty masterpiece belongs therefore to the best of what the year 2016 has brought us so far. 9/10"

Going back to their first very enjoyable album.
One of my favourite Marais discs with wonderfully soulful versions, and fortunately very well recorded : )
Debs
First play this year of this sensational album featuring some of Jenny's most steadfast collaborators such as Johnathan Rice, Farmer Dave Scher, Jason Boesel, Jason Lader and M Ward. And includes guest appearances from Elvis Costello, Chris Robinson [The Black Crowes], Zooey Deschanel [She & Him] on backing vocals.
Acid Tongue (2008 UK 11-track 2-LP vinyl set and sounding fantastic...

Simon, many thanks for that. Unfortunately the only album of theirs that I don't get on with is their new one. I guess the tour will be promoting it so I will probably take a rain check. Having said that I'll follow the tour online and see what the set lists look like so I may yet change my mind dependent...
One jolly fine album from Mr. T. I didn't appreciate it when it first came out, but playing it now after many years' gap and it seems to right up there in the Rumour & Sigh league.

Clive, that's a familiar theme for me. Every time he releases something I find myself taking a long while (sometimes years) to fully appreciate it. I'm inclined to think that's a good thing because he is always worth the effort - as Linda once said, he is fork-bendingly talented.
Tim
I thought I'd try something new. I'd never heard Anat Fort, though I do have stuff by Gianluigi Trovesi. On first listening it's very good.
Earthside, A Dream In Static, Tidal.
Powerful stuff, Talented Musicians who use guest singers.
This is the album by which all his work is measured IMHO. If you don't have this in your collection I strongly recommend a shopping trip.
Closing this evening with Joni.

This is the one that gets played most here - absolutely wonderful.

It didn't appeal to me. I like though very much the other two Anat Fort albums: And If & A Long Story:
