2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Laughing Len's debut album, and what a collection of songs, poetic and beautiful, a masterpiece
2017 - Vinyl...

One of Mary's finest albums, superb choice of songs, brilliantly sung with excellent musicians, there is one poignant chord Deccy Sinnott plays on Bright Blue Rose that can bring a tear to my eye.

Agreed. One of my favourite albums.
Now Playing........
Joe Jackson - I'm The Man
Next up on the list, taking Joe too for a spin.....
Leftoverture - Kansas (almopst typed Boston). Vinyl. Excellent Album.
2016 - vinyl...
2014 - Box set...
Now Playing.......
Chris Cunningham - If You Knew All Along
The day continues exploring albums l have not listened to previously. A more selective version of an internet radio station.
Now playing........
Stu Larsen - Resolute
Something new (for me), so spinning a copy of Resolute. Enjoying the first couple of tracks.
Deluxe Edition
Portrait of Wes. From 1963 with extra takes on the CD issue. CD-rip
Now playing......
The Civil Wars - Barton Hollow
Next on tap for an album I have not previously played, giving 'The Civil Wars' a spin.
The opening track '20 Years' certainly has grabbed my attention, great lyrics and harmony between between Joy and John. Looking forward to the rest of the songs.....
A+. Downloaded 24/94. Jakob Lindberg - Italian Lure Virtuosi Of The Renaissance
Mood is perfect for the last album of the day, gentle and intimate.
Now Playing......
ROCE - IDENTITE EN CRESCENDO
Always willing to listen to something new. I can dig the music, even if the lyrics are beyond my comprehension. Perhaps I should have worked on my French some fifty odd years ago. It would have come in handy now.....
Lovely beat.....
Tal Farlow - Tal. From 1956. Nice one with pianist Eddie Costa and bassist Vinnie Burke. CD-rip
Just finished.......
Jakob Bro - Balladeering
Jakob Bro (guitar/composition), Bill Frisell (guitar), Lee Konitz (alto sax), Ben Street (bass), and Paul Motian (drums)
Took a break and went with an album that I love!
Jakob Bro the young Danish guitar player and composer living in Copenhagen, Denmark playing with some of the legends in jazz. Worth the time to sit down and listen to this album.
Now Playing.....
Pablo Held Trio - Lineage
Pablo Held (piano), Robert Landfermann (bass), and Jonas Burgwinkel (drums)
Continuing on with playing an album that I have not listened to previously but was mentioned in this thread in the past few days. The first two tracks have been very nice.....
During workout an interesting set...
Now Playing.....
James McMurtry - Too Long In The Wasteland
Something new to me, nice to see a debut album where all 11 tracks were written by James McMurtry.
First cd - Kai Winding and JJ Johnson.
Delicate playing.....
