Happy birthday, Ewe.
Hope you have a good one!
Might be a tad late on this Ewe? But hope you had or having a great birthday...
ATB Graham.
Thanks Graham

Boogieing around the house to this which must be their best album in years
Nice to start the day of trumpet/flugelhorn with piano - dreamy duo...

Julian Steckel - C.P.E. Bach

Started this but didn't finish, as it's too artistic for the Sunday, while not bad...

Switched to something nice and easy...

JS Bach - Motetten by the Hilliard Ensemble
Bit of a departure from Facing You. But rest easy, the coffee's the same.

As I like them but haven't heard this, I went looking for this. £513 on the river!!!! Oh well. Time to search harder!
(or 2 euros on Discogs! Go figure!)

Try to get the first album first, it's the best one - raw and full of joy...
Moved on to the trio with saxophone. While it sounds great, it's funny....., it sounds most right when the trio is playing in the songs without the saxophone. While I am not saying it's not a great Quartet playing, but it is trio + saxophone....

Wonderful version of It's All In The Game.

You mean this one Bert from 1965. Reminds me to dig it out to have a listen to it.

On vinyl...first play.
Has anybody else have this album on vinyl?
My copy has a lot of surface noise, clicks and pops!
Have got a replacement copy on the way, hopefully that will be better!

You can also go in that direction. But i suggested to get the first version of the Naked Truth. Up you have the picture of the volume 2 which is also good but not as good as volume 1...

The Police - Regatta de Blanc -on vinyl.
Got this at Oxfam for a snip before prices start getting silly. In their time they always seemed be at No. 1. Great musicians and songs.

Do you have a RCM? My Loricraft PRCM4 usually gets rid of most of it to give fairly silent replay. L'Art du Son cleaning fluid to add to deionised/distilled water is important. As a last resort isopropyl alcohol diluted with 3 parts water.
After cleaning an uncleaned LP or one you have played a lot since the last clean I notice much more microphonic sound.
Very occasionally the stylus tip starts collecting much more stuff that always need removing after every side. This is usually a sign that the stylus needs cleaning. Dynavector provide a stiff densely packed carbon brush. I use a soft art brush to put asmall amount of isopropyl alcohol on the Dynavector brush and then carefully clean the stylus which is free to move but on the arm rest. Brush from back to front. This usually removes accumulated black vinyl dust that gets sticky attracting fluff etc. You should not have too much isopropyl alcohol as it could get drawn up the cantilever etc.

Jimmy Cobb - The original mob
- Jimmy Cobb
- Peter Bernstein - Guitar
- Brad Melhdau - Piano
- John Webber - Bass

I only bought this album a few weeks ago after it was mentioned by a few people on here, but it's been played several times since. However, I feel I'm hearing a whole lot more today after installing a new pre-amplifier this morning. I'm now hearing more of the gaps between the notes, and the instruments and the musicians. Very enjoyable album.

Hi Phil,
Thanks for your reply and advice. I do have a RCM and clean all my new vinyl before playing.
I also clean the stylus regularly using Lyra SPT, which works very well at keeping it clean so don't think the problem lies there either.
Just think I have been unlucky and have got a bad pressing.
Thanks again,
Andy.
Sunday's Adagio. One of the two vinyl copies in the house. The wife and I, we both had our own LP before we started dating million years ago:

Now Playing.....

James McMurtry - It Had To Happen
Starting off the Sunday Morning with James, another album from what is turning out to be a fabulous catalogue as other forum members have mentioned........
