2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.

5 trax off the album
Personally think it is a return to form for the Yacht rock man.

It's been like a rave here for the last hour. Strangely addictive sounds from System 7.
And finishing off with this 24/96.
Now playing.....
John Grant - Pale Green Ghosts
Taking a lead from DAYJAY who mentioned this album, something new to me so I thought I would take it out for a spin......
.....interesting opening track, looking forward to the rest of the album. From the credits on Tidal he has a lot of backup vocalists & musicians.
1972 - Vinyl - US pressing...
Now Playing......
Joe Jackson - Day and Night
Arriving home from work and spinning some Joe Jackson, its Tuesday evening, raining, traffic is miserable out there. Listening to Joe, things are starting to brighten up......
..... and I need to get may arse in gear and get back out the door in 45 minutes to meet with some friends for dinner. Life is Grand!

Now Playing.....
Michael McDonald - Wide Open
With a mention from EWEMON and STEVEE_S above I thought I would take it out for a spin. Love the opening track, looking forward to the rest of the album.
Now Playing......
Joni Mitchell - Songs of a Prairie Girl
A little Joni Mitchell to close out the evening. A beautiful album with a large cast of supporting musicians for the 13 tracks. Well worth the time to give this album a listen if you are a Joni Mitchell fan.
Harle and Lenehan playing John Dowland's 'Can she excuse my wrongs' on R3.

Ooh! A Joni Mitchell album I don't have in my collection. Thanks for the tip; I'll check it out.
Edit: just seen that it's a compilation.
I found this battered, 60 years old copy of an LP inherited from a dead friend's father's collection. I didn't even know that Ferenç Fricsay had recorded Le Sacre. I didn't remember having this disc, hidden among a few boxes of multiple LPs.
Restored as I could the cover, cleaned the record, it's probably the most fascinating rendition of the piece I've heard (and I've heard many, on disc or alive): it suddenly conveys the feeling of the real time, the real culture in which the piece was written and performed, as opposed to the often soul-less spectacularity of modern recordings. A jewel.
I bought this having read a very good review in the paper at the weekend. It fully lives up to the review, with fantastic interplay between the musicians and very involving music, with a real groove. It's a trio of sax, piano and bass and is their second album I believe. Highly recommended for jazz lovers. Brilliant recorded sound too.
