What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
What a wonderful jazz singer Claire Martin is.
Continued with another album of this trio...
Now moved to this very nice album. Bought it last weekend when it was discounted...
(1990)
Forget all the blurb (below) this was a fine album and it was just great to hear her back making music.
"Dusty Springfield’s late career renaissance owed its triumphs more than a little to her collaborations with the Pet Shop Boys, a partnership that resulted in 4 tracks being written by them and 5 tracks being co-produced by them for her 1990 album ‘Reputation’ (UK#18) including her last big hit singles, ‘In Private’ (UK#14) and ‘Nothing Has Been Proved’ (UK#16).
This is the first time that her critically acclaimed and commercially successful ‘comeback’ album has been re-issued as a fully expanded collection. This 3-disc collector’s edition includes the original album, all known extended versions and remixes, the B-sides from the singles released from it and the promotional videos of those singles on a DVD. Also, although not part of the original release, this edition also includes Shep Pettibone’s Disco Mix version of the 1987 Pet Shop Boys with Dusty Springfield hit ‘What Have I Done To Deserve This?’ (UK#2, US#2) on which Dusty was joint lead vocalist. This was the song to catapult Dusty back into the public eye and the charts for the first time in well over a decade." -- Some Blurb
Greg Brown - Covenant
Why? Well, I liked this when I listened to it on Tidal so I bought the CD which has failed to arrive and am getting a refund. I thought I would listen to it again on Tidal to see if I really wanted to re-order the CD and probably pay more than I did originally.
Answer: Absolutely yes!
Yello - Essential Yello
I thought I have some fun listening to these boys.
Now Playing.......
Luka Bloom - Riverside
A member mentioned Luka the other day and had meaning to give him a spin, here goes......
Artist from Bandcamp has made quite a number of recordings, mixed results but interesting to hear, this one is quite nice
On CD:-
Fink - Resurgam
Paco de Lucia, someone I really wish I'd seen.
Now Nick Drake, someone else it would have been cool to have seen, met or known. I was too young but I enjoy his music today.
Joss Stone - mind, body and soul
For pleasure, why else?!
This one on CD ripped to the NS01 and streamed trough NDS. Although I ripped all my CDs when I got the NS01 there are still thousands which the DTC shows haven't been played since. This is one of them. I remember it being more enjoyable than this.
