2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Ahmad Jamal - At the Pershing
Inspired by Bert's post.
On 1970s vinyl. Someone posted something elsewhere which reminded me of this strange, disconcerting outfit...
It has moved too far to electronics for me...
A kind of a strange combination. The Chausson piece is quite accessible also for non classical people, the other piece is a bit more edgy. As always quite well executed by Isabelle
Some fine jamming and 2 brilliant covers from the Funkadelic guitar maestro.
Now moved to the last released album of Ella, sugar sweet....

I feel the same.

A super solo piano recording recommended to me by my friend Max. But only Massimo and I ever talk of it. I can't understand why it isn't more widely known. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that from what I know of people's preferences I reckon quite a few here would love it: Haim, Jeroen20, Bert, Seakayaker, Stevee, HH, Erich, Clive B. And probably a few others too.
Thanks Max.
Thanks for the tip Christopher_M. I will have a listen. I don't know the music of Rachel Grimes, but I see this album is available at bandcamp. Regards, Jeroen.

Great album, especially 'You have been loved'. Will get a play later.

Just over a year old, who would have thought last May that this would be his final album?
My first Eddie Reader album and still my favourite.

Rachel Grimes - Book Of Leaves for solo piano
Going with the recommendation of CHRISTOPHER_M and taking the Book of Leaves for a spin. The only bummer is that the album was not available on Tidal and found it on Spotify and after two songs they went to a commercial.
Enjoying the album quite a bit and defiantly worth the time to give a listen.
David Sylvian. Secrets of the Beehive.
(January 2017)
The Flaming Lips, doing their thing very well on the latest album.
