2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;

My favorite Bob Dylan album.

Mine too. I just wish it were possible to get hold of the New York sessions version of this album. Some tracks can be heard on YouTube, If you've not heard them, it's worth checking out. Quite refreshing (and not the same as those on the official bootleg album).
Just been exploring this. I've had this on order for a week or so, but today I've been checking samples on the internet. I'm really looking forward to it. I've got a new tea pot ready for when it arrives.
Now for something a little easier on the ear, but superb in every way.
A Linn release:

Haim I bought a lovely 24/192 download of this from Linn records last year. Its Elizabeth Kenny and came with well deserved glowing reviews if you are interested a version other than your Norwegian Baroque Orchestra? It's also available on Vinyl and CD

Thanks. It will have to be the CD since I am still in the ancient mode of spinning discs.
A remarkable recording, a real classic. Great arrangements and improvisations.
The original MCA first press is superb sounding.

1983 - OST - Tidal...
This is a very calm album yet with an awful lot of depth. Excellent musicians yet no showing off.

Released about a year ago, it had completely passed my by, only heard it for the first time this week. I have no idea how to describe it, other than to say the opener, Nautilus is utterly bonkers and things just move on from there. Fascinating and enjoyable.
A dear friend bought me this for my Birthday, it's an eclectic delight.
Vinyl.
Last one for tonight. Great musician.
He was the guitar player on the (in my opinion) best albums of Diana Krall.

Meddle, the one that really got me into 'Floyd... It's been a bit of a while since playing it and the mood is upon me.
2011 - Footage of the 2008 concert at the Alexandra Palace in London. Available to watch on Amazon Prime.
Seal's first album and in my view still his best.
Red Hot Chili Peppers: By the Way.
Feeling a little sentimental. Daughter No1 became a teenager over the weekend and this album reminds me of the summer before she was born, touring around the South of France in our beaten up old VW and playing this album on repeat. We’d only just found out about the news and were equally terrified and excited at the prospect of becoming parents. Innocent times. This albums still reminds us of that apprehensive optimism - music takes you back like no other art form can. Also happens to be a damned good album too. Yes, I've had a (large) glass of wine!
I don't listen to much R.E.M. These days, but I'm always glad when I do. There are some great versions on this double album.

My first opportunity to listen to the 20114 Steve Wilson Remaster of this and its sounding rather good via the Tidal Masters thingy.
After a clean on the Okki Nokki this album, which hasn't been played since the mid 80s, is sounding super. So often old vinyl sounds so much better than recent pressings.
