What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Threshold was one of the bands I liked in the earlier days, thus album is a bit too much searching for me, missing the central line....
Strange album. You have the intention to quickly switch off to something else given the sometimes strange effects, however it keeps on pulling you in and keeps you listening. So this needs further research. Can't attribute the style accurately. But would say prog with some Radiohead effects...
Simply a very good album. Less hard more mainstream, but dramatic and nice. This will return again n my playlist, as it did already before...
I’m sure it’s all very nice but I’m a classical fiend so all lost on me as well as my in-box which is cluttered with Burt’s offerings. I must find a way to opt out of this thread.......help!
Now Playing.....
Nat King Cole - Collectors Series
It's Sunday Morning and picking something from the NAS......

I am sorry if I have upset you with my musical exploration. I am normally more active in the realm of classical and jazz and publish my impressions on full album listening. Will consider your feedback, and will make one post out of explorations....... hope that helps for you...
1961- vinyl - UK (1964) first pressing...
Eva and band are in the room
Finished off my prog afternoon with this great album. A full listen, nice atmospheric progressive rock, nice female voice...
So now switched to the more traditional listening habits, interested to see if Nelson adds anything or just becomes part of the usual mass executions of this particular pieces. The first part looks to be more direct and less on the expressive romantically side as some others have done. Let's see how the album develops further...
(1993)

Off to see Percy in a few weeks, so listening to some of his newer stuff to get in the mood.

You can even unselect the retrieval of emails in your profile, if that's the problem...
Stacey Kent - Close your eyes.
Some relaxing jazz from Stacey Kent.
The brothers when they were young, formidable technique, great joie de vivre, enjoyable music making.
On a different note, Bert I enjoy reading about your music exploration.
Lambchop - Flotus
First seen here in the music room, then a quick look at a review and now I have it. Second play. The only other I have is Nixon. This one seems very understated, low key, one paced. Let's see....

Billie Marten - Writing of Blues and Yellows
Some rain, some blue skies, some clouds and some sun brought Billie's album to mind......

Bert, FWIW...... I have been introduced to a lot of music I normally may not have looked at through this forum.
I do appreciate everyone's comments across all the musical spectrum that is presented in this thread.
Ahmad Jamal - Marseille
Checking out the latest album of Ahmad Jamal. Sounds good so far.
Mr Waters' latest album is ok but I still much prefer this one.

Dave Matthews - Live at Red Rocks
In the mood for some Dave Matthews....... I enjoy this album.
Petri is a wonderful interpreter, with a great tone, despite my mild aversion to the harpsichord, I think Jarrett nails the accompaniment here, and I love the Handel. Uplifting album.

Another listen to the excellent final Gregg Allman album.
