What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
And now, for a variation, more Variations.
Sometimes a bit too artistic...
Love his version of Human Nature.
Continuing somewhat with the Nils Frahm vibe, Lloyd Cole and Hans-Joachim Roedelius - Selected Studies Vol. 1
I've always wondered what long-time Cole watchers made of this. "Won't you put on your dress/ and come down to Magazine Avenue", it ain't.
Interesting version of the Bolero of these guys..
I've been using this album for some speaker position fine tuning over the last couple of evenings. 'Revolutionary Kind' has been stuck in my head all morning so it's getting a play during my lunch break.
Gomez - Liquid Skin
Engaged myself into the smooth rounded Bigband music of Christian McBride, traditional but nice...
Continuing the journey with his earlier big band album...
Now Playing.....
Joan Osborne - Breakfast in Bed
Joan records a soul album......random pick from a list of her available albums on TIDAL.
Erich posted:
Tidal. Randy Crawford & Joe Sample - No Regrets
Thanks Erich had never heard these two together but always loved Randys voice.
Solid jazz performance before..
Now switched to something completely different...
Zoot Money LP - I always liked the cover
Giving it a play - good stuff - Still going strong - gigs in London
Now Playing......
Gomez - Liquid Skin
I played another of Gomez's album last week, so with the mention from JAMES N I thought I would give another album a spin.
Through the second track and really enjoying the music.......
Enjoy SK - track 2 will certainly find any rattles
Exploring this triggered by an earlier post...
Angela Hewitt - Bach: English suites
Kree Harrison - This Old Thing
This gal can sing. Enjoyable choons too.
Nora Jane Struthers - Nora Jane Struthers
Loving this. But I am a sucker for country/bluegrass.
Although i've got all their albums, this is the one i find myself coming back to most frequently. A nicely chilled start to the evening
Goldfrapp - Seventh Tree
Dinosaur - Together, As One
Trumpeter Laura Jurd and her band play on this Mercury-nominated album.
Now Playing......
Nils Frahm - Felt
Going with something new to me, taking the mention from CHRISTOPHER_M above of the album FELT with the comment "the drive of this recording seems just right" and running with it. Taking FELT out for a spin to see if I can get some sort of 'drive' into this overcast, damp and cool Thursday morning.
Enjoyed the first two tracks so far.......
(2013)
After a long day and undecided as to what to play, joining James with some Frappage.
Lee Perry - The Upsetter : Essential Madness from the Scratch Files.
Trying in vain to break free from the reggae / dub mindset of the last couple of days.
So, for now, this ................... completely bonkers, .................... but, ..................brilliant!
