Second day of listening to this new album from Nerina Pallot. Some of her pervious albums have been of moderate re-production quality. Not bad but not as good as they could and should be.  This one (on CD) is much better.  The music is lovely and in my view is her best since Fires.  The opening song, Juno, Stay Lucky, and The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter are particularly good. I couldn't help but think the latter sounds a bit like a Bond movie theme. Recommended, particularly for fans of Nerina.

This is a lovely album. Thanks for the tip Mike.

Mark Knopfler - Kill To Get Crimson

Very different to Privateering, one on my favourite MK albums but as enjoyable in my opinion. That means I like this very much.

There's been a fair amount of discussion on here about Percy's new album, lots of folks, including me, who weren't immediately grabbed by it.

After three or four days listening, (not exclusively!), I finally "get it", and now appreciate what a fine album this is, full of Eastern influences, and much more, all adding up to a coherent whole.

Well done Robert and The Sensational Space Shifters, ...........what a band!

It is indeed, Nigel.  I've been playing a lot since it arrived and am liking it more and more. I'm seeing Nerina perform live again next month and am now especially looking forward to hearing her perform some of the material from this album.

One of my favourite Puscifer albums who are another or Maynard James Keenan's projects, MJK is better know as the frontman for Tool and A perfect Circle. Puscifer are well worth checking out if you have enjoyed what MJK has done with Tool.

Keith Jarrett trio - Inside out

On this album the trio doesn't play standards that they are so well known for (apart from the encore) but they play more a kind of free jazz. This worked out very well imo.

5 trax off his up and coming due out 17th Nov. From what I can gather it maybe reworkings of unreleased trax from throughout his career.

I would advise all Bob fans to click play on the video.

You won't be disappointed it rocks.

Possibly the best rock song I have heard this year.

Was trying to think where I had heard it before and then it came to me, it is a Lou Reed track of his New York album.

This does sound great, I've bought, followed and enjoyed Bob Seger solo or with the Silver Bullet band since he started. Great heads up Ewen thanks this sounds very promising.

I’m seeing RT playing a solo acoustic set on Thursday, so listening to his 2 new CDs which I assume will be a large part of the set. He’s a great acoustic guitarist, his technique used to drag all the emotion out of a song. This is a set of songs he doesn’t play very often if at all, some old Fairport numbers, some rarities, even the obscure end of his catalogue has gems shining out.
