Jimmy Page & Robert Plant - No Quarter.
Acoustic re-workings of Led Zep favourites, this album ought to be in every Zep fan's collection, in fact, it should be obligatory!
The "red cover" remastered version is the one to track down.
Listening to the Dukes of September, Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs live in 2012 on Spotify. Seems to be DVD only concert presentation, hope someone has stumbled across a cd, really good live music. They did an earlier tour as New York rock and roll soul revue, but different tracks.
Arctic Monkeys - AM on vinyl.
The album that introduced me to this lovely lady. Just the thing for this wet, windy night here in Hants.
Cara Dillon - Sweet Liberty
Now Playing......
Jon Balke with the Cicada String Quartet - Rotor
Had a lazy day + lunch with a former work colleague today, who's also a music lover. We explored a lot of vinyl, notably:
One of my fav's for virtuoso guitar playing:
One of the sweetest female vocalists on Mofi 45rpm
:
A great live album:
The showstopper was, albeit a bit mainstream - the 45 rpm single:
The storm backing to the intro and the general music flow was ethereal - the only word I can come up with. Pure musical enjoyment.
One of the four essential Anuar Brahem albums ( the others are: 'Thimar', 'Astrakan Cafe' and 'The Astounding Eyes of Rita').
Now playing.......
Lee Konitz, Brad Mehldau, Charlie Haden - Alone Together
Lee Konitz (saxophone), Brad Mehldau (piano), and Charlie Haden (bass)
With a mention from CHRISTOPHER_M who was working off a recommendation from Max, I thought I would take this album out for spin. I love Charlie Haden and Lee Konitz, so I thought this would be a no-brainer..... Through the first track and enjoying it.
Now Playing.....
Anouar Braham - Blue Maqams
Anouar Brahem (oud), Dave Holland (upright bass), Jack De Johnette (drums) and Django Bates (piano).
Third time spinning this album and enjoying it more each time.
Review by John Kelman on allaboutjazz.com can be found here.
Now Playing.......
Annie Lennox - Diva
The wife enjoys Annie Lennox and so do I, so taking the Diva out for a spin.......
Sorry I get hung up on a single song, and its different recordings, for days...in comes 3 Imaginary Boys.
Anyhoo the Spotify HQ version is worth a listen, far exceeds YouTube recording in SQ.
Truly an amazing track in studio, lived, youtube...period.

It’s good to see some Cure being played. I love their early stuff, though I went off them after Pornography. I wrote to Robert once, in 1980, to see if they would come to play where I was living on Anglesey, and he wrote a really nice letter back inviting me to meet them at a gig in Brighton. I couldn’t make it unfortunately, but it was a kind offer.
Did some exploration this morning..., I am not so much a fan, but this is pretty good..
Should get more of him...
Exploring missing spots in his discography..., have found a nice set of Columbia for that...

The trouble is though that the Far East Suite is a pinnacle of achievement and quite unique. Splendid album, Bert.
Thought I'd follow on from the initiative of Bert, above. This one 'Live at the Blackhawk'.
