Sounds like you had fun, James
Mark Lanegan Band - Gargoyle.
More sonic adventures from the bleak side from the estimable Mr. Lanegan ............... it's out there on Tidal, and well worth a listen.
This is one Joni Mitchell album which I didn't really relate to when I bought it in the early '90s (it was actually released in 1977). I don't think I played it more than once or twice. What a mistake that was! I'm not sure why I elected to play it this evening, but what a splendid album it is. Superb recording quality too. 'Don Juan's Reckless Daughter'.
1968 - vinyl - US pressing...
Silver Apples
Last album before bed, Argerich playing Rocky 3 superbly.
Sure, this is kinda all over the place as a thrown-together album...
However, the languorous half hour or so of ‘He Loved Him Madly’ is phenomenally good.
The Orb - Metallic Spheres.
Winding down the evening with some soothing sounds ............... a certain Mr. Gilmour is on hand, helping out.
Now Playing.......
Prince - The Truth
A mention from DAVE MARSHALL the other day had me place this in the TIDAL queue. Through the third track and this is one fabulous Prince album!
If you like Prince and have not heard this one, it is worth your time to give it a spin....... Thanks Dave for posting this one in the forum.
Chris Stapleton-Austin City Limits via Live Stream!
Got to love the Internet.
Pianists take note: the new release titled "Chopin Evocations" from Daniil Trifonov is something very special indeed. Among so many moments of brilliant pianism, the like of which I have never heard before, the second movement of the second Chopin Piano Concerto will melt your heart. I am enjoying these performance in a 92kHz/24bit download from HDtracks, but it is on CD and on Tidal as well. Obviously highly recommended!
Just Finishing........
Liam Gallagher - As You Were
Another mention from DAVE MARSHALL from the other day and placed this album in the Tidal Queue. Love this forum with all the exposures to albums that I may not run across otherwise. Oh, the sheltered life I lead.......
Now playing.......
Lizz Wright - Freedom & Surrender
Giving this album another spin, love Lizz's voice and music...... just fantastic
Streaming on TIDAL

This was great. Not sure if it will stay on YouTube but if it does check it out. If not then catch it when it airs on ACL.

I absolutely agree. It is a very special recording and I have already named this recording as my personal favourite record of the year. I doubt anything to come out in the next two months would change my mind. If I were not so busy working long but satisfying hours at the Macedonian content farms I would write a very detailed review here.
Great music and one of my favourite cds.

k. d. lang INGÉNUE (25TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION)
After listening to Lizz Wright's sing a absolutely outstanding cover of k. d. lang's 'Wash Me Clean' I needed to hear k. d. sing her song.
Both are simply beautiful! ......and both Lizz's Grace and k. d.'s Ingenue are fantastic albums!
Oh wow, is it really 25 years since Ingénue was first released? Where has that time gone! Still stands up well and gets played regularly at Yeti Towers.
A great start of the morning...
I usually start the working day with R4, but this morning I'm starting with a radio doc...
Bruce Springsteen: The Long Walk Home Episode 1. Radio 2 broadcast, streamed via BBC iPlayer. An essential listen for Bruce fans - lots of live tracks included. Well worth an hour of your time.
BBC player link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0999y9z
Predictably, episode 2 up next! ...
Another one...

James Bay - Chaos And The Calm.
No work today, so, a late start with my second coffee, to wake up properly ............ yawn.
Yes, it's a bit mainstream, and a bit "pop", but don't prejudge this album, as there's some great songs on here, particularly "Let It Go",
and he was exceptionally good live, when we saw his band at Scarborough Open Air Theatre last year.
The Beat - I Just Can't Stop It.
Nothing like a bit of 70's 2-Tone ska, to put a smile on my face .............. ah, memories.
