1974 - U.K. First pressing...
The Radio Dept. – Running out of love
Two from earlier above and now
One I've not played for a while. It's a very fine album.
For obvious reasons. Very sad news.
This album always makes me happy, and puts me in a good mood...
Steve Wilson remix
1974 - UK pressing...
RIP John.
Back door- Back door. Best bass playing ever.
Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Last Rebel, 'modern' Skynyrd but still brilliant and especially the title track with the accoustic version in particular being awesome. Flac via Audirvana/Hugo

If you are not talking about Neil Peart then kindly wash your mouth out with soap!
Its Colin Hodgkinson. I think he is worth a listen. But I am always up for suggestions for epic bass playing. Another faborite is Greeslade - the track Melange.

If you haven't already give Neil a listen
Since HH posted that:
I will have to counter with:
It is like an ECM poker game.. Same crew of Holloway with his Baroque violin, Alyosia Assenbaum on the harpsichord and Lars Ulrik Mortensen playing the organ. Highly recommended.

I'm confused - is this Neil Peart of Rush fame? Or do you mean Geddy Lee? Or is there another, bass playing Neil Peart?
Sincere apologies, it's too much Bacardi watching the football and talking holocks. It is, of course, Geddy Lee, God of bass playing to which I refer although I'm sure Neil would be damned good at playing bass too if he chose to be. I really should have gone to bed an hour ago! I once watched The Eagles live and they swapped instruments half way through the night whihc was pretty impressive but I don't recall Rush doing the same thing at any point. I wonder if Neil can play bass

Thank goodness for that - I was beginning to question my own sanity...
If I'd thought it through I could have said there was an obscure blues bass player called Neil Peart that only I have heard of, but if I could think that clearly I'd have got it right in the first place!. I've only been a fan for 35 years so you'd think I would know the difference!
This 50th Annivery edition of the Dead's debut album includes a great board mix from a previously unreleased concert: July 29-30, 1966 at the P.N.E. Garden Auditorium in British Columbia. Unfortunately, my first Dead show was 6 months after Ron 'Pigpen' McKernan died in 1973. This album shows how, in many ways, Pigpen was the heart and soul of the band in the its early days. Streaming via Tidal.
