2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Nina Simone - Little Girl Blue. SACD. Recorded in 1957, this fine sounding Analogue Productions 2015 re-issue was "mastered by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound"
The Eagles
One of These Nights - 24/96

Now playing.......
Jon Balke w/ Magnetic North Orchestra - Further
Jon Balke (piano, keyboards), Jens Petter Antonsen (lead trumpet), Per Jorgensen (trumpet, vocals), Morten Halle (alto Saxophone), Tore Brunborg (tenor and soprano saxophones), Gertrud Okland (violin), Trond Villa (violin), Jonas Franke-blom (cello), Anders Jormin (bass), Marilyn Mazur (percussion), and Audun Kleive (drums)
Half way through with taking this album out for its second spin and enjoying it quite a bit. Loving Jon's compositions with the mix of the horns with the strings, piano and percussion.
Continuing my discovery of Wolf People, excellent 70s style blues/prog/folk style, off to the river to pick up the silver discs. Thanks Stevee for the tip.
Leo Richardson Quartet - The Chase
Great hard-bop jazz.
Gregory Isaacs - Maximum Respect.
Maximum late 80's ragga dancehall riddims ................ stuff to relax to.

Say "Yes". Did the same thing earlier. Super Trouper album, and it was fun. Heroine anyone? Just say "No".

Emil Viklicky (piano) & George Mraz (bass)
Picking up from a mention of HAIM RONEN yesterday I placed this in my TIDAL queue and giving it a spin.

Who could possibly say no to Agnetha?
One of my favourite post-Green Mac albums.
Baxter Dury - Prince of Tears.
First listen via Tidal - This was album of the day on Radio 6 - yesterday.
John Lee Hooker - The Best Of Friends.
John Lee rocks out with his friends, who include Eric Clapton, Ry Cooder, Van Morrison, Carlos Santana and more.
A most excellent album.
Simply Red - Picture Book

I haven't listened to that for a very long time. Must give it a play soon.

I know I posted this recently but I liked it so much when I listened to it on Tidal I bought the CD and am listening to the rip right now.
This is soft reggae sung with soul by our Joss. It sounds bonkers and some of you will think I have lost my mind. Don't care, I love this.
Listening onTidal now based on this post, it’s great.
Now Playing........
Simon Eskildsen Trio - Introducing the Simon Eskildsen Trio
Taking this album out for a spin after putting it in the TIDAL queue after a mention from BERT SCHURINK yesterday.
Donald Fagen - The Nightfly
On original Vinyl and sounding as good as ever
Prompted by Raider. Gosh, how this music brings the memories flooding back. Don't think I've played this since I got Naim gear and I must say it's bringing to life a very old CD.
At risk of getting more stick that the ABBA listeners, giving Adele a runout. This was the first of hers I’d heard, I’ve loved it since I first heard it. Fine songwriting, and I love her voice on this.

Well, if we're turning this into a competition, here's my secret vice, and I claim my prize, forthwith.
Ivor Cutler Trio - Ludo.
