Saw his tour to promote this album and the gig is still in my Top 20 of all time.
Have you ever posted a list of your favourite gigs? You seem to have attended and enjoyed many. I'd be interested to see which were your favourites.
Nope re a list but I was lucky I only ever paid for gigs when I was a youth and was lucky to get free tickets for anything I wanted to go and see. I also ended up at point booking bands for concerts and selling mechandise at soem as well.
Tidal. Paula Cole - This Fire
Now Playing.......
Fever Ray - Plunge
Taking this album out for a spin after putting it in the TIDAL queue after a mention from STEVEE_S yesterday......
Britten's Bridge Variations. A work of real genius very nicely rendered by this band.

Prompted by Raider. Gosh, how this music brings the memories flooding back. Don't think I've played this since I got Naim gear and I must say it's bringing to life a very old CD.
Good call chaps - still a great album and one that's getting a play now
Last album before bed, excellent performances of Schumann 1&2 from Karajan’s Berliners.

One of those 300 LP's sitting in my shelves that I know sound massively superior to any digital version. Still considering whether buying a record player is a good idea or not...
Tidal. Rachel Kilgour - Rabbit In The Road
True. The cover looks like something from a D grade GCSEs art course.
Vaughan Williams - Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis
Stirring performance by RLPO cond. Vernon Handley
Yes. Please, these guys are the good guys. Don't you forget it .
CD. Robin Gibb - 50 St. Catherine's Drive
Very, very good. But will leave you in doubt about the feminine side of yourself ..
Tidal. Rumer - Seasons Of My Soul
Now Playing.......
Sting - Mercury Falling
A short drive down memory lane to a little over 20 years ago.......
A great album
Divertimento Op.86: Strauss: Orpheus Chamber Orchestra -'91 rec.
You'll never guess this is a Strauss' work. Unusually he taps into of all things, Couperin's Piano Pieces give them a flesh. Beautifully orchestrated polished mature work. Perhaps loses a bit of liveliness and carefree style of the original but done up in a modern romantic style full of textures and warmth. Usual heavy-handed Strauss treatments are absent instead he fills in the skeletal original nicely with layers of tones and colours. The tune never gets over the top remaining translucent and airy.
Now Playing.......
Van Morrison - Back on Top
Taking a little stroll with Van on this Sunday evening......

Don’t like this one so much as the other ones as it involves a violin, and I am not a fan of violin in jazz, others might like it...
