An all instrumental album from Gong. Brilliant jazz fusion with Allan Holdsworth.

(1970)

Something else from 1970 that blew my mind at the time when it was first released, those two (complimentary) lead guitars, I played the vinyl almost to destruction.

Sails,of Silver by Steeleye, one day I’ll get around to splitting this 5 albums over 3 disc ripped set into the original album groupings. Steeleye more poppy than folky on this, I still enjoy it, Maddy on fine voice and the excellent band play well.

More Donald Byrd, but this time as a sideman in this 1963 recording under Herbie Hancock. Great support from Grant Green, Hank Mobley, Chuck Israels, Tony Williams and someone I'm not really aware of, Gracham Moncur III, no less, on trombone. It's not an album I see posted in here very often, but then again, I haven't played it for many years either. It's a bit more varied than just hard bop. Very enjoyable though.

John McLean & Clark Somme's Band with Joe Locke and Xavier Breaker  - Parts Unknown

Taking the lead from JEROEN20 above and taking this album for a spin. Through the first track and it is very nice!

First listen to ths brilliant album. Don’t know how I missed this first time around. Probably because I didn’t watch MTV back in the day.

Recent album bringing the exes together after a half century or so. Well chosen covers and some of their own classics, Stills is still a great guitarist, Judy’s voice is lovely (and amazing for a 78 year old), their voices blend well, and they can both interpret a song with the skill of 50 years of experience.

Spinning vinyl tonight. Hannah Reid sounding divine through the NAC552. This preamp is a remarkably revealing piece of kit.

Many years ago my father used to play this in the car (cassette/tape) every morning whilst taking me to work. As a lad in my early teens I thought it was garbage.

It's amazing what time and growing up does to one, I realise now that he was right and I was just a spotty, snotty oik.

 80's vinyl.

Wilco - A.M.

Imagine..... a beer bar with the slightly sticky floor, pool table in the corner, chat, and these guys knocking out fab tunes to the crowd in the adjacent main hall. .....You're there.

Such a great album. About time I played this again.

It’s Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughan, playing the blues, what else do I need to say?

FGTH - Welcome to the Pleasuredome.

This is what I wanted to listen to in the car with my dad on the daily commute.

Recently purchased a Music on Vinyl copy and on my humble system it sounds rather good. War is particularly good.

Paul Simon - Graceland

Mine is not the 25th Anniversary Edition, but has 4 bonus tracks and dated 1986, 2012. The SQ is amazing.

Just played Graceland again and wow what a difference after repositioning the long legged shelf over the 300 DR PS to give the SuperCap DR breathing space and the empty shelf above to do the same for the XPS DR. The nDAC has moved above the 282. Darke Bear recommended the space round the 552DR PS, but it works just as well for lesser systems. Totally gobsmacked. If I had not done this I might have got as big an improvement powering the nDAC with a 555DR PS. Words make it difficult to express how alive music can become when the setup is right. Go do it yourself!

Bravura performances of Haydn and Mozart (the Hafner). SQ a bit recessed, but good. Note to self, must fix the typo in his surname in the metadata.
