2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Before dynamic jazz album...
On CD:-
Delaney & Bonnie And Friends - D & B Together
Michiel Stekelenburg - Hypnos
Ik you like some rock elements in your jazz, than I can recommend this one.
Michiel Stekelenburg – guitar, Tom Beek – tenor sax, Guus Bakker – Bass, Pascal Vermeer - Drums
Very nice laid back jazz....
Runrig
Once in a Lifetime - CD Rip
My favourite Runrig album, I never tire of listing to this album.

Van Morrison - Roll With The Punches.
Initially posted by Ewen, I believe, I'm having a first play of this largely blues covers album, which has Jeff Beck in attendance ............
sounding very good indeed.
'Tis so good, I'm going to "play it again Sam", ................... .
Van the man and Chris Farlowe do sound awfully good together, innit.
Thought I'd join the Van the man fest. Spinning the black discs now.
They were very good on the Later 25 at the Royal Albert Hall show.
In fact that's what persuaded me to buy the record.
Led Zeppelin III: CD Rip.
After seeing Thor: Ragnarok yesterday it was time to revisit Immigrant Song (used to great effect in the film) in its original context on Led Zeppelin III. Is this their best album? Not sure, but its probably my fav. I just love Gallows Pole and Born-Y-Aur Stomp and never get tired of hearing them. Timeless.
Just as an aside, are the HD remasters (on Qobuz etc) a worthy upgrade over the CD version?

I can't advise on the HD remasters, Yetizone, but as you probably know there are quite a few different CD versions. I tried several and found most disappointing until I found the Japanese LP replica CDs of Led Zep albums. I bought the box set. Expensive but worth it as they are the best Led Zep CDs I've heard. Here's the LZIII version:
Enjoyable recordings of Prokofiev symphonies.

Thanks MDS - much appreciated! OK, I'll check that lead out. I wasn't aware of the Japanese LP replicas so they could be an interesting option, although the Qobuz 24-bit – 96.00 kHz HD versions are looking mighty tempting!
My only other album with Donald Byrd as frontman. This was recorded in 1967, but still has elements of bop and, particularly noticeable, modal styles. It's actually another fine offering from Mr Byrd.
Willie and the Girls brilliant album
case/ lang/ veirs
Chillin. Late. With good music giving the right vibe.
Malia & Boris Blank - Convergence.
Boris is a more subtle mood than usual ............ some really melodic choons, ............. great SQ ............ and Malia's voice? .............. silky.
It's on Tidal, so have a listen, 'cos this one's not just for fans of Yello.

Haven’t compared the HD stuff with the best CD version. But I have to say that I do love the HD stuff from them as such....
Thought I'd better join the party before bed time! Mary Black - No Frontiers. Currently playing 'Columbus', which is probably my favourite track on this album.
24/96 download, the QObuz bargain Ten Year War set (thanks Gary Shaw) split into the original 8 albums. Good SQ and Sabbath being Sabbath, great stuff.
Nitin Sawhney - Sounds of the Underground (Instrumentals & Remixes). On Tidal. To quote Wikipedia "Nitin Sawhney is a British Indian musician, producer and composer. His work combines Asian and other worldwide influences with elements of jazz and electronica and often explores themes such as multiculturalism, politics, and spirituality."
London Undersound was inspired by the tragic events surrounding the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes on the London Underground in 2005, and celebrates and comments on present-day London and its cultural diversity. The studio album features an eclectic range of collaborations (normal for Nitin Sawhney) with the likes of Paul McCartney, Natty, Imogen Heap, Reena Bhardwaj, Ojos de Brujo, Anoushka Shankar, Tina Grace, Faheem Mazhar, Aruba Red, and Roxanne Tataei - but this instrumental version strips out the vocals, and reveals the consummate composer and performer that is Nitin Sawhney. Brilliant late night music, and as a bonus, SQ to die for...
Now Playing......
Anouar Brahem Trio - Astrakan Cafe
Album that was recently purchased ripped to the NAS and giving another spin......
I do love Anouar's music, each of his albums I've purchased and/or listened to are all top shelf!

Good call Dave - still has the sonic fingerprints of Yello, but much more mellow. I guess you could say Mellow Yello?

Checking out the new album of Andras Schiff and Yuuko Shiokawa.
