2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Explored Ron Miles today - good album.....
This is not for everybody as it is a kind of strange trio setup, but those open for that will enjoy it....

The great Gene Harris. Wonderful jazz.
Allmusic.com:
All of Gene Harris' recordings for the Concord label in the 1990s are easily recommended, and this one is no exception. The Harris quartet (with the fine guitarist Ron Eschete, bassist Luther Hughes, and drummer Paul Humphrey) digs into such material as "The Trouble With Hello Is Goodbye," "Everything Happens to Me," "Nice 'n' Easy," "Bye Bye Blues," and Chuck Mangione's "Children of Sanchez," turning everything into a blues-oriented groove. Harris was always in his prime on piano (mixing together Oscar Peterson and the boogie-woogie greats with his own brand of soul) and this quartet was a perfect setting for him. Another fine effort.
This reminded me that I haven't played this in a while. Listening to it now, I am reminded what a remarkable pianist GH is. Very enjoyable.
A number of trax off his up and coming album out early Dec.

Ok Stevee, I'll see your "Sloe Gin, and raise you a "Blues Deluxe" ............... erm, is it a bit early yet for LOUD?
Joe Bonamassa - Blues Deluxe.

Steve Kuhn trio - Plays standards
Solid mainstream jazz from the Steve Kuhn trio.
Allmusic.com:
Veteran jazz pianist Steve Kuhn has proved to be a popular artist in Japan, recording a series of CDs for the Japanese label Venus. On these 2006 sessions, Kuhn is joined by bassist Buster Williams and drummer Al Foster, two artists who also have extensive résumés. While the CD is titled Plays Standards, Kuhn doesn't stick exclusively to well-known works. In addition to Victor Young's widely recognized "Beautiful Love" (a favorite of pianist Bill Evans), the pianist offers a seductive take of the composer's "Golden Earrings" and a lighthearted, breezy setting of "Love Letters" as well. Kuhn's intense workout of "Alone Together" includes an amusing detour into Thelonious Monk's "Locomotive," while his revamping of "Softly, as in a Morning Sunrise" disguises the tune rather well. Kuhn also revisits his original "Oceans in the Sky," a brilliant piece evocative of a coming storm. Highly recommended.

Ouch...
(2015)
On we go with something live, relatively recent and from a great venue and getting LOUder...
Fain - Wolf People. One of the albums I picked up from the river and ripped, 1st listen. Different to their 1st 2 I tidalised, it’s in the style of ‘70s rock/folk (not folk rock,) more Trees or the folky numbers from Zep and Purple. Another winner from this band that I discovered last week via Stevee_s.

Thanks Steve. I have just given it a brush up and trimmed the tassels ready to meet my fellow Naimees at tomorrow's Audio Show East.
