2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Ripped from CD.
If you like Jazz music with some rock influences check out this album.
He has released two albums. This one is his first, which I think is his best one.

Litourgiya by Batushka
Black metal and some Russian orthodox plain chant, not your normal metal then but it works well.
Or here.
The Wonderful Joanna Newsom
Bonnie Raitt - "Dig In Deep" (2016)
UB 40 - Promises and Lies.
Fashionable to knock these guys, at least post the first two or three albums, but, "reggae lite" or not, I like 'em, so there!
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood - Vinyl.
Another Xmas present I've just got around to listening to ... missed this guy first time round but great bluesy guitar man ... a shame he died early.
Allan
Kate Bush - Aerial. CD rip. Haven't played this in ages - sounding sublime.
A + | Tidal
(1974)
I no longer have the physical media for this so its good to wheel it out on Tidal for a listen.

My favourite Bowie album. Must give it another play soon. Ch..ch..ch..changesssssss.
Haikara - Haikara
Today's Walkies! (weather: cloudy and chilly) was accompanied by this album from Finland in 1972. Tricky to describe - it's eclectic Prog, with flutes, cellos, and above all sax that gives it an overall feel of and early Van Der Graaf Generator album (though not as raw). Anyway, it's dead good (they turned a bit ordinary after this).
Try this, the closer. Takes a little while to get going but it's worth it (I turned Stuart Maconie onto them through this)
A collection of The Dame's instrumental electronica, on CD:

Steve Winwood - "Junction Seven" (1997)
1968 - Vinyl - 1972 UK reissue...

Agreed. I'm not a great Bowie fan, despite owning several of his albums, but this album is superb.

It only took them 18 years to release this one, well worth the wait though...

This was the first Mothers album I heard. It did two (or more) things: blew my teenage mind, and infected me with the Hi-Fi bug because I heard it on a friend's monster Stereogram: the mighty Beogram 900RG. The sounds issuing from speakers I had never imagined, driven by a turntable that was the ultimate in space age were just astonishing and raised so many questions at the time: Where exactly was Eric Clapton? What were the censored bits? How come someone who looked like a hippy despised hippies so much? When was the next one out?
All questions answered in time...
Love it to bits, though loathe the 80s Zappa remix (with digital reverb, re-recorded "modern" drum and bass).
Ancient s/h vinyl (not the version shown)
Why? Wanted some jazz and this suggested itself.

Back in the Canterbury Scene. This time with Hatfield's Rotters. I find this more accessible than the first album, but some great guitar noodling.
Cactus - One Way... Or Another. UK First press (red/plum)
And now the eponymous first album.
