What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
A while since I've played this. Superb reproduction quality which helps Rice's ability to swing from quiet and delicate to some surprisingly weighty bits.
Easy Star All - Stars - Dub Side Of The Moon.
It's Pink Floyd, but not as we know it ............... a dub version of the album which we've all got in our music library ............ completely
bonkers, but nevertheless, musically sound, and it always brings a smile to my face.
Seriously, if you fancy a bit of comedy, and there's nothing but "non comedy" on the telly, check out these guys, and if they don't
make you larf, then there's something wrong.
Most of their music is on Tidal, and their Michael Jackson "Thrillah" album is an absolute hoot.
You probably need to be familiar with the original artists, but anyone who does a deeper dub version of this particular album, calling
one of the tracks "Ganja Plant remix" certainly gets my vote!
(1986)
Lovely stuff, and I haven't listened to him for quite a while.
Courtesy of The Deadpod, the Grateful Dead's incredible show at the Philadelphia Spectrum in March '73. Take a look at this setlist - and Jerry is ON FIRE!
Eddie Cochran - Memorial Album.
Coming completely back down to Planet Earth after the bonkers dub above, this guy was surely one of the true rock 'n roll
originators?
Rock on Eddie ...... Somthin' Else, indeed
On CD:-
Margo Price - All American Made
Graham Parker with the original rumour, excellent Parker songs, band on great form, and his characteristic voice, one of his finest albums.
Graham Parker and the Rumour - Heat Treatment.
And why not, indeed .................. one of the all time great pub rockers from the 70's .................. I know, .............. 'cos I was there!

A brilliant album..,,first heard on the Bob Harris show on R2. Raises a smile and some great reggae. Played it to several friends, all bought themselves copies.
As for the original. ...still one of the all time finest albums. I was fortunate enough to see the DSOTM tour many moons ago.
Any Dub you like

I didn’t see him until the early ‘80s, but he was still damn good.
As discussed here when the album came out, a bit of a slow burner, but it’s now a firm favourite for me, lovely songs which do work really well as a coherent album. A couple of tickets to the Manchester gig at the end of the month dropped through the letterbox today. ????
DubXanne - Police in Dub.
All this earlier talk of bonkers reggae / dub means that this is now playing chez Dave.
Completely mad, but strangely compelling.
Explored on a Qobuz deal on saxophone music, exploring some stuff (earlier this evening), the below album absolutely not recommended by me, while Coleman has made some interesting music...
Realised I had a gap while knowing his music through other artist who play his music...corrected the gap by the way...
Of course also had a listen to this...
The Egmont Overture followed by the Eroica. Roger Norrington, London Classical Players.
Now listening to the great trio. Have seen this DVD multiple times, but also ripped the music to my harddisk....
After Beethoven, Julia Fordham, naturally!

Once I've finished listening to some more daft reggae / dub, and retired to the music room for the rest of the evening, this'll be next up ........... couldn't agree more, something of a slow burner, but now .......... an album full of earworms, Percy keeping up the previously set high standard.
Saw him at Leeds during the "Lullaby" tour, so, ..................... enjoy the concert!
Tinariwen - Tassili
Desert blues from one-time forum favourites, introduced to me by Andy Kershaw
Groundhogs - Solid.

I think I'll join you with this album. Thanks for the reminder. Beautiful music. This is the first time I've played it since getting the 552. Wow!
Following Dave in listening to the great dub covers band, I saw them at the Cropredy Festival in 2010 and was hooked, this is a brilliant album.
Thomas Lang - Little Moscow (Vinyl)
People say vinyl from the 80s doesn't sound good. But this album sounds superb.
