What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Daniil Trifonov plays Franz List - Transcendental
Very talented young artist.. And beautiful music.

The reason I post is because of the label - this is Ultimae, a French electronica / downtempo label (for those that don't know of them). I think I have all Ulitimae's releases on Bandcamp and I like pretty much all of their artists. I actually buy from them without listening first! In my experience (and taste obviously) of about 10 years listening to their releases, I am pretty sure I will like anything they put out. I got an email today about this being released and it was straight off to Bandcamp to throw money at them. Upon listening, I am not disappointed.
One thing I have noticed is that their records sound great on articulate systems like the ones Naim does (although I am listening now on my mobile rig, which is Ak100 mk1 / Chord Hugo 1 / SE846).
BTW I don't work for them, and they are not paying me to say this! They are just very well matched with what I like to listen to.
Sjt, good stuff. I have a few from the Ultimae label on bandcamp and agree with your views. I got the same e-mail this morning, you have prompted me to start digging deeper into their extensive catalogue. A favourite band is Asura, Radio Universe which gets quite a bit of play when I'm out and about.
Hope your digging is productive! My current favs are Aes Dana (I think he used to be with Asura) and Scann-tec. I also like Ultimae's curated compilations (e.g. the Fahrenheit series). I have found that quite a few Ultimae artists are on other labels as well so if you find someone you like on Ultimae, its also worth searching on Bandcamp - for example I recently found an I AWAKE record on some other label on Bandcamp and this is also good. I think Asura has also been on quite a few labels.
I'm playing the new one on the indoors stereo now. The stereo is modest by most people here's standards (Dac v1, Nap 100, Kef LS50) but the new Martin Nonstatic record sounds great on it.
Wynton Kelly's sense of blues phrasing is just so edgy and large!
(See above)
I saw this mentioned by Graham Russell over the weekend. I'd enjoyed her collaboration with Boris Blank so made a purchase. A great voice over a Jazzy, laid back groove - it's rather enjoyable.
Malia - Yellow Daffodils
A fine album...
Prokofiev: Violin Concertos - Franziska Pietsch (violin)
This really s a superb live album from Steve Hillage. It really sounds like the German crowd are having a ball.
Back to an old Unplugged favourite to end the evening.
Nirvana - Unplugged in New York

Which version are you playing, Andy? I have yet to find one which thrills like it did when I first heard it, despite being played on equipment about 500 times the cost of that used to play it then!
Best version I have heard on cd is the first Japanese mastering. On my system it is the badn are in the room.
Franz Schubert: Forellenquintett - Anne-Sophie Mutter (violin) | Daniil Trifonov (piano) | Hwayoon Lee (viola) | Maximilian Hornung (cello) | Roman Patkolo (double bass)
Let the marketing team loose and your importance just may be determined by font size. If this were the correct way to represent the status I would increase the Daniil Trifonov. He just gets better and better with each new recording he is involved with.
Biases aside, this is a fairly good recording overall.
