2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;

Never take my word for it as I always reckon people should make up their own minds by listening to it.
I really don't get his music or him. Given the benefit of the doubt, I even watched a documentary on C4 a while ago. Not for me but each to their own...
Rolling Stones - Still Life
Saw them with on the British leg of this tour at Wembley in 82. Where is Edinburgh Janet now I wonder?!
The Imax film of a gig from this tour is well worth catching if you're a fan and not seen it.
C.
......just a guitar, but captivating...
Just a quick 10 minutes to catch some tunes turns into two hours so i'm finishing with this superb album.
The method of playback may have changed from when i first bought this album but this is still a fantastic listen for me.
Talk Talk - The Colour Of Spring
Abdullah Ibrahim in a private concert - Berlin 3 February 2017.
Just one word: STUNNING!

Have you listened to Gold Tony as if not that is possibly the best place to start?

The documentary appeared to be for fairly hard-core fans I guess. I wouldn't really count myself amongst them, although I have collected quite a number of his albums since "Gold" was released and always dip in and out of most of them pretty regularly, which I take as a good sign. Like you say though, each to his own.
Ewe - I read the review you referenced and that prompted me to dig out this one. Great track and album. CD rip.
An exquisite album, a Feed Simon recommendation , who sadly we don't seem to see around here as often.

Huey Lewis and The News. Sports. On original vinyl from 1983. Fun album. Had some crazy compressed bass for its day, though pretty tame by today's standards.
Cat Stevens. Tea For The Tillerman. On original vinyl from 1970. Fancied something folksy.

All the big hits .................in dub!
An absolute hoot, yet strangely compelling, it's on Tidal.
Especially Spirits in the Material World.
The Cars. Candy-O. On original vinyl from 1979. I think I played this exclusively for an entire week when I first got it.
Rolling Stones. Undercover. On original vinyl from 1983. I mostly lost interest in the Stones albums after this one. I guess I should give their latest a listen.

I think I had trouble taking my eyes off the Alberto Vargas artwork when I got it!
^ yeah, nice set of headlights on that car
Jimmy Buffett. Changes in Latitudes-Changes in Attitudes. On vinyl from 1977. While I loved his cheeseburger, margarita, and volcano hits back when, I never really took Jimmy very seriously. Having grabbed a few of his old LPs the past few years I'm surprised how good a songsmith and musician he really is. His SQ is excellent as well.
Best Of The J. Geils Band. On vinyl from On vinyl from 1979. A chat with a friend tonight reminded of this oldie from a bygone age.
