2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Maria Joao Pires on the sweet sounding DENON label:

Time flies:
Dr. Feelgood - All Through The City.
Just got home on a freezing cold North Yorks. afternoon, so, something to get the old circulation going again.
This three CD remastered set from the Feelgoods also includes an additional DVD of live favourites ................. Oh yeah!
Another recent discovery for me thanks to new speakers, reading reviews and ultimately giving this album a try (via Malcolm Steward writing in Critic). Best enjoyed with a glass of something warming in the hand (i'm taking my own advice here !)
Dr. John - Duke Elegant
UK first press vinyl. I haven't played it in 30-35 years, I reckon.
In fact, I didn't even know I had it. Must have got misfiled 20 years ago, when I moved into my current place, and then gone missing for decades.
Now Playing.......
Neil Young - Harvest
Visiting with an old friend on this gray, overcast, chilly morning.........
Streaming from NAS
From 1996, a kitsch kollection of old synthesiser library music from the 1970s. On vinyl:
Now Playing.......
Joe Cocker - Sheffield Steel
Going with the mention from JAMES N above and visiting with a long lost friend....... Picking up the beat on this Saturday morning and getting the feet moving!
Streaming from TIDAL!

Now playing - i'd forgotten how good this album is. Thanks for the reminder

Is there some kind of competition going on between you and Tony2011 to see who can post the dodgiest album cover? I’m not sure this would be acceptable today, so can only assume people were more liberal minded in the ‘70s.
EDIT: I’ve just reread your post. How times have changed since the ‘90s!
Justin Adams - Soul Science.
Why? 'Cos you can never have too much Justin Adams.
More desert blues / trance from Justin, ....................... who's from Bath, would you believe?
Favourite of the moment

Just for you Clive, I'll play Volume 2, which was released in 1997. Also on vinyl:
With nice smells coming through from the kitchen, i've just got time to squeeze in a few tracks from this superb album.
Malia & Boris Blank - Convergence
Michael Franks - The art of tea
Allmusic.com:
After his debut on the tiny Brut Records (a short-lived record label of the famous cologne company), Michael Franks established both his unique sound and a recording process he has continued throughout his career. Primarily a jazz artist, Franks crossed over to pop and rock fans through heavy FM airplay beginning with The Art of Tea. Sensually suggestive and playful tracks, such as "Popsicle Toes" and "Eggplant" contain sly wordplay and almost Henry Mancini-like, breezy jazz-pop. Employing a similar approach as Steely Dan did with its music, Franks' singing and songwriting formed the basis of a sound rooted in the support of top-notch musicians, many of whom were the hottest studio jazz players on the scene. Here, the killer rhythm section of drummer John Guerin and bassist Wilton Felder is augmented by horn pros Michael Brecker and David Sanborn, with Franks and Larry Carlton handling all the guitar work. This winning combination of players, styles, singing, and songwriting would be reshuffled and refined over the years, but perhaps with no finer results than on this official major label debut.
Blaze by Dirtwire
Released yesterday just downloaded and getting its first spin.
Lee Perry - The Upsetter / Essential Madness From The Scratch Files.
More bonkers reggae from the originator.
1994 - Vinyl - German pressing,,,
I hope the cover appeases the masses!

Tony, good to see that your commitment to dodgy album covers remains undiminished...
I bet Damian Green has that album.
Superb triple-album compilation from Soul Jazz Records. Says what it does on the tin, as it were:
Addition of the 555PS to the 272 opens the slightly dense mix of this gem out beautifully. Hearing it anew!

An album I only recently discovered and one I find I am enjoying regularly.

If I could only find in my soul to enjoy this woman’s music as much as others do here. I think she has got a great voice, I just cannot digest the stuff she sings about. Lord knows I tried.
