What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Lovely recording of the Eagles live over 40 years ago, they were really on form and sounded good, fine SQ from a CD Rip.
Junior Watson a nice bit of jump blues.
(2007)
Finking a lot earlier.
Julia Fischer in her younger age playing the Tchaikovsky concert avoiding artistic toying around, but adding her warm tone which I also enjoy in her sonatas and Partitas (also on Pentatone)
A Mahler 5th that toys with emphases and balances - Roth micromanages with some impressive results but long tension arches apparently aren't his priority. The performance is not overly lean, but it somehow sheds all notions of bombast, which makes this music sound more sophisticated than usual. All in all pretty good, but don't go in with fixed expectations.
Cheers

Why? Because its been quite a while since I played this, there are some lovely songs here, Come Down in Time playing as I write...
A fairly recent discovery for me courtesy of Stevee_S. A very pleasing blend of early ‘70s influences, Led Zep, Jethro Tull, Traffic... Not just a pastiche, they have their own sound, although the influences shine through on this album, having seen Percy a week ago a few wails sounded familiar. Really enjoyable music.
Art Pepper - Today
Allmusic.com:
Altoist Art Pepper, in the midst of a successful comeback, recorded this excellent set for Galaxy. With pianist Stanley Cowell, bassist Cecil McBee, and drummer Roy Haynes, Pepper performs a definitive version of his intense ballad "Patricia." Other highlights include "Miss Who," "Lover Come Back to Me" and "Chris' Blues."
Jack Johnson - On And On
Jack sounding mighty fine this evening.

Speaking of which, this one will possibly be my last for tonight.
Joan Armatrading - Show Some Emotion
Wow, I had almost forgotten how wonderful this gal is.
A+3 24/48. Paul Simon - The Concert In The Hyde Park
