2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;

Night Owl - 16bit 44.1kHz Wave

Black Sabbath - Paranoid
a) Because I still have Sabs bouncing round my head since Tuesday
b) Because I'm trying to scour Villa's latest defeat from my consciousness- I'm playing this VERY loud
c) Because it's completely ace

I am not into gospel, but this touches my deeply...
ESP - Invisible Din

Today's arrival, first spin.
Initially, I was going to get disc #2 of Barron's Live At Bradley's but instead I opted for this later work from 2016.

My Heart Burns!
One of these nights where I go left right and top down through my collection.....
Bert, thanks so much for the tip on Chihiro Yamanaka! I'm embarrassed to say she was unknown to me. Just enjoyed a stream of this 2005 album, which evidently won a Jazz Album of the Year award in Japan:
Whoops, I think I got the year wrong. The album was released in 2008, as a tribute to Oscar Peterson, who died at the end of 2007.
U2
The Joshua Tree - 16bit 44.1kHz Wave

Don't be too hard on yourself. I also before today had only one album of her. Now two and most probably soon more. But one can't know it all. Especially when the style taste is as broad as me and a lot of others. Only some time every day to listen.
That's why this forum and music reviews are so great as it can open up new unknown music to others. That's also why I appreciate when people try to describe what they hear, while I am also guilty of sometimes just posting what I hear.....

Classic lovers - this is worthwhile to hear, an interesting new talent. Won also a prestigious price, while that's not always a guarantee....
Last one of the evening...
Bruce Springsteen - The Ghost of Tom Joad
My usual need to hear that thing about: 'taco-nite, coke and lime-stone' in Youngstown.

Vinyl:-
Fleetwood Mac - Tango in the Night
Fleetwood Mac. Bare Trees. On original vinyl from 1972. Kind of a wandering, transitional period for the group.
Delbert McClinton. On CD from 2001. Texas blues, honky-tonk, and country. Good carousin' music for a Saturday night.
John Surman — soprano saxophone, baritone saxophone, alto clarinet, bass clarinet
John Taylor — piano
Chris Laurence — bass
John Marshall — drums
Recorded in 1993.

One of Markus Reuter's and the Stickmen's best albums to date with more King Crimsonesque sounds and influences.
