Sticking with psychedelic rock and another project of one half of Moon Duo. This "Vol.2" by Wooden Shjips compiles several of the band's vinyl only releases and digs deep to collect the band's Sub Pop and Mexican Summer singles, two self-released European tour singles, and a track from Yeti magazine, for nearly 44 minutes of fuzzed-out psych jams.
Fancy some old Soul.
Freddie King - Burglar.
Last hit of blues for today, this one is more blues / funk from the Texan master.
Nice closure of the evening...
Seal II, WAV CD Rip.
Bring it on!!
Modern Art, "Sonic Dimensions 1982-1985". three-LP set. apparently only 500 were made.
fantastic dark & spiky new wave. if you're into new wave, you will like this, full stop. (you can still find it on Discogs.)
John Hassell: Fascinoma
In Fascinoma John Hassell weaves unique interpretations of standards like "Nature Boy" and "Caravan" into his own sonic tapestry. Hassell has intended the album as a tribute to the "musical exotica" he heard as a child "on the radio or in movie scores," and his statement unlocks many doors to his music. (AllMusic)
Smokey Robinson & The Miracles. Great Songs and Performances That Inspired the Motown 25th Anniversary T.V. Special. On vinyl from 1983. Might be the longest album title ever. Nice collection of Smokey's best music.
just mesmerised by Lisa Gerrard's voice..:
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Déjà Vu. On original vinyl from 1970. There's plenty of old rock music readily welcomed by newer generations, but I have to wonder about this one. As stalwart a classic rock album as this is, much of the power and appreciation of its music relates to a time and place for those that lived through the troubled transition from the 60's to the 70s.

Starting this morning with Bach.
I haven't listened to this CD for a while. I almost forgot how beautiful the music of Poulenc is.
Some of his compositions remind me of Keith Jarrett's solo improvisations.
Beatles: Revolver. CD rip. I don’t listen to my Beatles albums that often now. I don’t know why, over playing them in my youth and general ubiquity I guess. But Its always a joy when I do revisit these culturally important icons - easy to forget just how good each album is. This is probably my fav, although I do like them all.
Have you got the 24bit flac rips that George Martin and his son did?
Jon,
No I haven't got the high res versions, just the standard CD's (ripped with DBPoweramp) from about 10-15 years ago. Are the 24bit flac rips you mention part of that ltd edition USB / Apple set? Not aware of any other high res versions, but would dearly like to buy the full set of HD albums if still commercially available.
yes, i have the usb key
