CD arrived today and I am not allowed to play it loud!! . I'll save that for Thursday
Kevin-W posted:Gary Shaw posted:This, Innocence and the two "Prunes" albums are all terrific, with a unique stamp. No wonder he was sampled so hugely.
Love the records he made with Cannonball Adderly and David "Ilya Kurakin" McCullum too, although I do find The Ax's Messiah rather heavy going.
I'm not a great fan of that style of jazz if I'm honest. The McCallum albums I agree are good fun. The Messiah's a mess, Heavy Axe has one or two tracks worthy of him and a pile of MOR dreck to go with them. Earth Rot is interesting, but to my mind the best post-Experience album is the S/T one he did with Mo Wax in 2001 - though that was cheating a bit as it was effectively recorded round about the time of the two classic Capitol albums and shelved.
Still, that's being a bit mealy-mouthed when the core of his music has given me such pleasure continuously over nearly 50 years!
a nice curiosity with a couple of strong tracks that have stayed with me...B S-M calling on some heritage...A+ CD rip
followed by another curious pairing that work well together....
1989 - Tidal...

Jimmy Page, Robert Plant No Quarter on CD.
Marillion, Clutching At Straws, almost a perfect album. Flac via Audirvana/Hugo
This is an excellent album of Led Zep Covers with the sort of twist that makes you reevaluate some of the songs.
It's on Tidal and well worth the click.

Rush, Presto, because I haven't listened to it for a good while. Not my fave Rush Blum but some strong tracks to enjoy. 24 bit Flac via Audirvana/Hugo
Couldn't find a track of Telemann. Here Hardenberger is playing Haydn, just as good:
On 45 rpm vinyl.
Blur - The Magic Whip

(1998)
This double album marked their transition from death and doom metal merchants into something altogether more melodic, post rock, atmospheric and trippy. Playing CD rip 2 of 2.
Bruce Springsteen. Tunnel Of Love. On original vinyl from 1987. A mixed venture of Springsteen's pop and ballad egos.

Some pleasant ambient electronic music with occasional vocals to accompany the light snow fall here this morning.
I had problems with Photobucket again last evening. So couldn't publish my last one of yesterday, a very enjoyable one indeed...
This is my start of the day, very energetic..
So after finishing of the one above moving on to the same series, same conductor. Still amazing how good these ones sounds after so many years..
