Have you got the 24bit flac rips that George Martin and his son did?

Jon, you reminded me of my cute green Apple USB, so I got it out and loaded the FLAC files onto an NAS drive, then played some back through an HDX with external DAC (Mirus).  Better than I remember, but there's still something wrong with these Beatles remasters, regardless of digital format.

David Gilmour. Eponymous debut on original vinyl from 1978. Why? Because this album is freaking sweet!

David Gilmour. About Face. On original vinyl from 1984. Another sweet album, worthy follow-up to his great solo debut.

Mabinogi, a collaboration between Cousin Silas & The Glove of Bones, was created to soundtrack a film by Adrian Nicholls; it features three longform ambient pieces that draw heavily on field recordings and found-sounds. "This isn't easy music ... this is dark, atmospheric and challenging, and not Cousin Silas' usual sound ... but it is also really rewarding.

David Gilmour. On An Island (2006). On remastered vinyl from 2015. Finishing my evening's listening with Gilmour's third studio album. Good no doubt, but I get into the previous two a bit more than this one.

An obvious Gilmour fan JoeRand .............  have you got - or if not I recommend - to complete your collection.  'Rattle That Lock'  & 'Live in Gdansk'   Gdansk is a multi-disc with x2 CD & DVD which is excellent as you can watch the master at work.  DVD sound from TV to NDX is excellent

There is something special about those 'oldies'. They have got great voices, use real (big) bands, swing and also the background singers add something to the music.

Chris has been around for a long time. I haven't heard the album above but try the following

Dancing with the Muse

Eros

Desires of the Heart

I am led to believe that Brio and Maya are also good albums but personally haven't listened to any of stuff since the early 90's.

Listening to Maya as I post this as a catch up and it sounds quite nice.

ewemon sorry for the late reply, was visiting a sick friend, 4 hour round trip and did not get home till very late last night.

Thank you for your recommendations, will listen to them tonight in the chill out zone.

Spirit of '76 - Spirit - excellent album from the mid 70's - Randy California is sorely missed.

I know there are some Trucker's fans here.  I was listening this morning to a bootleg I made of them in Portland on their first ever tour of the Pacific Northwest back in June 2000.  They were opening for Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons playing small club dates.  One of the songs on the bootleg is from one of their earliest albums - Gangstabilly and is about an Atlanta area musician who died of AIDS.  The song is "The Living Bubba".  Hope a couple of you might enjoy this version from YouTube.   regards, Jeff A
