What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
First.....
Diana Krall - The Girl in the Other Room...
....then.....
Melody Gardot - Worrisome Heart...
Why? Because these are two stunning albums in my very humble opinion.
Really a Blues/Roots album .
Last blues album of today next up Donny Hathaway.
Jeff Anderson posted:I know there are some Trucker's fans here. I was listening this morning to a bootleg I made of them in Portland on their first ever tour of the Pacific Northwest back in June 2000. They were opening for Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons playing small club dates. One of the songs on the bootleg is from one of their earliest albums - Gangstabilly and is about an Atlanta area musician who died of AIDS. The song is "The Living Bubba". Hope a couple of you might enjoy this version from YouTube. regards, Jeff A
Thanks Jeff - exploring some more DBT videos also prompted me to give this one a run on Tidal. Never really listened to this properly before, but it's sounding very good.
Fancied some epic soul, so it has to be Ike, on 1970s Stax vinyl:
Playing some of the type of music I used to hear on Andy Kershaw and John Peel way back when.

Mike-B posted:An obvious Gilmour fan JoeRand ............. have you got - or if not I recommend - to complete your collection. 'Rattle That Lock' & 'Live in Gdansk' Gdansk is a multi-disc with x2 CD & DVD which is excellent as you can watch the master at work. DVD sound from TV to NDX is excellent
@Joe Until I'd heard Rattle That Lock, I thought that his first eponymous solo album was his best, but I think RTL possibly tops even that. As for About Face and On An Island, I own both, but they don't get played. I recommend RTL if you don't have it already.

I fancied some space rock and haven't played Zombi's Shape Shift for quite a while, problem solved.
More epic 70s soul on vinyl, this time constructed by Norman Whitfield:
What can I say about this concert by Erroll Garner?
Not Blues but I am enjoying it.
Track 2 sounds a little bit like an old Barry McGuire track in places.

Vigil In A Wilderness Of Mirrors - Tidal HiFi

Track 3: Count One
Track 6: Run Around

More space rock required from Zombi and this earlier album hits hard with synths and drums.
One of these great trio albums...
Keith Jarrett - Sun Bear Concerts - Sapporo (ripped CD)
Vinyl:
Well known on this forum. Good music and good sound...
I've been playing this quite frequently over recent weeks.
