Sherlock ?

I found this first episode of the three  to be a total disappointment, very poor story line, poor narrative, even boarding on ridiculous, thatcher busts getting a bashing possibly the only highlight...

Not even inclined to watch the next one...is it just me or am I expecting to much?

The Bendy Cucumber batch is supposedly related to Arthur Conan Doyle. Related as cousins.

Only on this forum would the debate on Sherlock be around the speakers in the background, love it.

Well I thought tonight's episode was excellent, even though I didn't spot any 1970s-era Rank Wharfedale speakers.  Toby Jones outstanding as the baddy.

Mrs Husdon's surprise appearance (trying to avoid spoiler...and that's not a clue aspiring Sherlocks) did make us lol I have to confess!

What did they do to Toby's teeth?...Horrible!

Anyone notice what looks like a Harbeth or Spendor speaker sitting on the hearth in his sitting room, must be an old BBC mono job.

Does he check for the correct driver bolt torque with his sonic screwdriver?  ; )

He must have a lot of torque if he is unscrewing the safe to Bank of England!  Now that will be a story to wake us up!

Just watched episode 2, despite being a  totally ridiculous storyline,  it was an enjoyable watch, just for all the wrong reasons....

Relax man! I have yet to see it. Will exercise iPlayer on Weds. Colleagues say it's no good. Goddess Loki says it's great. Deities have taste.

Report back after you have watched it?

In my case SWMBO said ' I've just wasted an hour and a half of my life ' safe to say not impressed ....

In Episode 2, did the Toby Jones character (superb acting by the way) remind anyone else of Jimmy Saville and how he was treated by the world?

The way that he was able to get away with so much without being challenged whilst being a public figure and as good as untouchable. And being creepy.

Yes I think that was the intended analogy...

On reflection, yes a spot on analysis

A combination of Saville and Hannibal Lecter, disguised as Jack Nicolson at his evil best...

But personally I found the whole series unsatisfying and ridiculius. It's the way the writing has been going over time, but I'm done with it now and won't bother watching any future series. Doctor who has a bit too much of that influence as well, but remains just watchable.

Unfortunately I agree, unnessasarily ridiculous, a very poor series, shame...

Fortunately I disagree.

Wonderfully ridiculous in places making a very good series.  A shame that Benedict, Martin, Steven and co. are busy making future series doubtful.

PS. To those who feel the show has gone "down hill" since the first series, were the three episodes really any more ridiculous than the random pill suicide as murder from the first episode - there was hardly any deduction in "A Study in Pink" and it came down to randomness if the victim or the perpetrator would die.

Hopefully Benedict, Martin, Steven and co will be busy doing other things, and never return to make another series of complete and utter tosh....as this one has been......

Yes, I totally agree with your point of view. It was so boring... I expected better action

Yes, unfortunately for me an extremely poor series....shame

Three episodes. Difficult to imagine that as a series. Maybe Bendit  scunterfadge has become too expensive as an actor.  Same thing happened with Idris Elba and the Luther series
