Anyone else waiting....?

A friend use his BrioR with Royd speakers occasionally, sometime I think its all needed with hundreds of vinyl and a TT

Yes also waiting, and hoping to sell or part exchange my SuperUnit but have not done a deal yet (although I've taken it in for evaluation and am using my v1 Qute in the main system temporarily; will see about sellers no that on also if there is a market). No word here in Canada on shipping dates, but also expecting late January or February for Atoms and probably (?) even later for Stars/Novas. The word from Manu (from the Cdn distributor) here on the Forum was that at least some Cores have arrived these shores (and iirc it was enough to satisfy orders in place at that time). Anticipation is difficult when you don't know what the clock says! I agree that the Xmas hiatus must finish off and backlogs addressed before we can really expect any news...patience indeed is required and, apparently, virtuous.

Looking forward to reading about the first impressions of the new Uniti range also.

My local dealer phoned before Christmas, saying they would not have any Uniti demo units ready until well into January. I'm probably going to wait and compare my Qute2 to the Atom and also at the same time hear the Nova as well. That's the plan anyway, although unit availability may dictate otherwise. Goods thinks are worth waiting for!

I think it will be a while yet before any Atoms ship. Personally I wouldn't bet on January and the Star and Nova will be later than the Atom, so side by side testing isn't going to be an option for a while yet unfortunately.

February... Oh dear, I was afraid you guys would say that. I guess I do need to be more patient. I did borrow a cheap Denon all-in-one streamer to get by with...  But using it just makes me miss the Naim system that much more. 

Why not considering then S/H or even now a largerly discounted brand new UQ2?

That is a good idea Chag. however, my upgrade decision was based on the DSD playback capability of the Atom. It was either that or to keep the Qute and ad a Chord DAC for DSD playback. Once I saw and heard the Atom in person, I kind of had to have one.
