Hi All,
I got a Naim muso Qb for Christmas and try as I might I just cant get a couple of things to work right for me. I've searched around the forums and googled a bunch but to no avail.
1. I have a windows 10 desktop which is acting a UpNP server as this has all my music on it. I have no issues playing music on the desktop or in my car when I copy it to the external USB HDD I keep in my car but when I try to play it via the muso qb the tracks are out of order and appear alphabetically, I've check the meta data which windows media player shows as correct and also manually check it, I've used different options in Upnp to view the music, folder, artist album and album all seem to suffer the same issue. Its rather frustrating to say the least. It cant be a design thing, so I figure it must be something the noob in me is doing wrong, does anyone have any pointers or can shed a little light on where I am going wrong?
2. When trying to use my phone (Sony Z3) to play music that is on it (SD card) using built in music player it doesn't seem to be able to cast to the device, I use Spotify from my phone and no problems? Any ideas?
Well apart from those 2 niggles the kits great by far best sound from such a device I've heard, so thanks Naim!

Hi there - yes I found the same issue when I started out dabbling with streaming from a PC to a Muso a couple of years ago. Windows media server seems to order the tracks alphabetically by default for some reason - very irritating. I couldn't find a way around it.
The easiest option is to install another upnp server software on the PC e.g. Minimserver or Asset. I used Minimserver on my PC for a couple of years and it works perfectly. Just follow the instructions exactly as on the Minimserver site.

I hope you are not plugging your USB drive to your Muso
1. As to metadata - it may be the issue of the UPnP software you're running on your laptop.
However what you describe is more consitent with tracks missing most fundamental metadata like artist, album name etc etc.
What file format are your tracks in?
2. You don't actually use your phone to stream from Spotify - Naim has a built in client for that. So your phone becomes a remote control.

I had the track order problem using a WD My Book Live as server to a Naim Uniti 2. I have had to put a number in front of the track title to get tracks playing in the right order. Additionally, the DLNA software on the My Book Live doesn't go by the filename but by the Title field in the MP3 tags, so I had to copy the (numbered) filename into the title field to get it to finally work.
I don't know if you can tell Windows Media Player what field to use when ordering tracks but if not the numbering of filenames might help.
It might not be related to your problem at all, but I thought I'd mention it in case it gave you some pointers.
