My XP5 Xs has annoying Hum

Hello Guys, Oh dear I just bought an XP5XS to partner my CDXS --and after a week the XP5 PSU has started to hum and this morning it is become a slight "wavering" brmmmm,brmmmmm/etc

tried different Powercords/different mains outlet in the listening room--the holding bolt underneath is dead tight /etc-- it is annoying as I live in a rural quiet area  with little or no ambient noise.

My  other Naim PSU--Flatcap XS is super quiet--- any suggestions before I send of for service?

Relax Will - you're in safe hands here. 

Good choice with the 555PS - when is it arriving?

Note: even though it's a pre-loved one, it may still take up to 3 weeks for it to settle into your system.

Ah such reassuring words!---I feel better already!

About 2 weeks with Burndy-- yes I realise it may "grate"(?) at first launch but I'm sure it will augment the already excellent CDX2

My Sparky is going to check the Line frequency before it arrives he thinks he can work solution if it Hums--I certainly don't want" Flight of the Bumble Bee" played without the music

Yoh Adam. Well sort of relaxed now all installed and running!--the 555PS all sounding superb--I must admit it sure kicks Butt!--the X2.2  has opened up enormously with inner detail and nuances revealed--and

this after only one day!--leaving on full-time and will note progress/etc and report--grateful to you for the bump towards this beast--certainly eclipsed the previous PSU's tried--Kudos!

only minor niggle is slight  Transformer hum but will leave in place for a while to see if it settles--it is not unduly bothersome.

The unit is a 10 yr old Ser# I probably will have to look at Recap future--but as you say Ok for now--and sounding fine.

Thanks for the update Will!

My re-capped 555PS (I did not DR it though) took approximately 8 weeks to settle down with the CDX2.2. I thought it sounded really good right from the start, but as Americans would say, boy was I wrong It just kept getting better and better. And then some more.

If bought new, you could ask your merchant to replace it. Mine did
