F1 - 2017

The championship has not yet started and it seems the poor Manor Racing is about to go into receivership and be the first casualty of 2017. I wish them well and hope they can find a buyer and be able to compete this season.
That was team work at its best and Lewis owes Botas big time for holding back Seb.
On a sadder note it was really heartbreaking seeing that young F1 fan in tears after his idol(KR) had to retire from the race.

Hah! Cue much blubbings in the grandstand the first time someone clips the barrier at Monaco..

The Italians can't resist a crying child though - It got him into the garage where he met Kimi and no doubt got some nice memorabilia!
Great race today. They worked hard & you could hear it.

I'm away for the week & I've only just caught the result & race on Ch4+1. Great race, best yet for 2017.
re the little tearful Ferrari fan, Ch4 showed him in the garage meeting KR during the race & them with the teams crowd under the podium for the presentations - looks like he had a great time as a result of KR's mishap & his tears ............. Mike-in-Minsmere

In fact, they still are!

I naively thought it was Raikkonen who wanted to meet his very young fan...
They (team) certainly have a reputation for making grown men cry!

That's not funny at all. That's a F1 accident, the one every pilot wants to avoid.Do you really need these pics as samples? If yes,I prefer the boring crying child then.

Ma dai, Fabio. Tu sei troppo sensibile. It's is just light hearted british humour, man. Chill out.
I see Tony,thanks for your reply,but I simply don't like those pics.

I get your point Fabio and sorry for any offence caused. They were both (as I recall) failures caused by leaving the driver out too long leading to tire failure rather than accident perse. I would remove them if I could as I don't want to cause offence. So feel free to "report" them if you wish them removed.

Not to worry. Here's something to cheer you up.
Tony Brooks(British driver) on a 1959 F1 Ferrari Dino 246.

Eloise,
I don't see anything wrong with those pictures and they have been splashed in printing and online all over the known press. I hardly believe there's been an outcry for them to be removed or banned.
Fabio is entitled to express his opinions(sentiments) and so are you. No one is expecting an Italian inquisition!
Thank you so much,Eloise, but I think I completely agree with Tony.
I see McLaren have managed to get Alonso to squeeze some testing time in for their F1 upgrades...
As for British Ferrari drivers, I've always been rather partial to this one and this pic in particular...
In action.
Mehnaco.

Kimi looked so fed up and clearly thinks the pit stop strategy worked against him but in reality had Vettel pitted first he had so much speed the result would have been the same.
Putting them all back in karts at Monaco is my solution for a more interesting race. The Yachterati wouldn't like it of course.

100% Graeme. I've always said Monaco is a non-event. I've been a few times (fortunately all ex's paid) its something special for atmosphere, the glamour, the scenery, the eye candy in the harbour & offshore, but its still not a real F1 race. I've suggested in the past that Monaco is changed to a drivers race with them all driving the same cars, single seat but a formula with the same car make & power etc to better suit Monaco streets; that will make it a real drivers race & then we will see who are the best drivers. But the suggestions went down like a lead balloon.

In Mr Button's case, I think he thought it was a go-kart, with a large front bumper.
There have been great races at Monaco in the past with some incredible overtaking. Unfortunately today's was not one of them and if you think Monaco is boring, spare a monument for poor "Frodo" Alonso going round and round and round Indy. HTF can anyone enjoy "racing" on an oval circuit?
