Pandora, Rhapsody/Napster and the 3 major labels announce support for Hi-Res streaming

A large swath of the music business, including all three major labels (Universal Music Group, Sony Music and the Warner Music Group), the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and music platforms such as Pandora, Rhapsody/Napster and HD Tracks, all in concert with the Digital Entertainment Group (DEG), today announced their support for studio-quality hi-res audio for music streaming.
With Tidal and Deezer Elite that now brings the total to 4 'mainstream' services offering at least REdbook quality streaming. Hopefully this will coax Deezer out of it's current Sonos/Bose exclusive. Also, as the article speculates, what next for Apple and Spotify.
What remains unclear is the technology. Are we talking about 24 bit / 192 kHz FLAC or MQA? Based on some of the quotes e.g.
"I am thrilled that the technology has evolved to the point that the authentic studio experience can now be streamed to the mainstream listener," Atlantic Records chairman and CEO Craig Kallman tells Billboard.
I'd guess MQA, but it's not clear.
