BBC radio stops playing

Posted by: AMA7185 on 09 January 2017

Hi there,

Just joined the forum and looking for a bit of advice from anybody with the same problem.I have the mu-so Qb and it sounds fantastic.No problem streaming from Spotify etc, but my problem is with radio,BBC radio in particular.It seems to play fine for say 10-20 minutes and then suddenly stops.Very frustrating when listening to a programme with a storyline.I control it from my iPhone 7 plus and when this happens I get the message 'reconnecting'. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

sorry dont have a Muso but NDX - can you check the buffer level on Muso to ensure your signal strength is good one - use Radio 4 - 5 and mainly Six Music with no problem at all - also are you using the new HD BBC to stream?

If you are running the QB wirelessly sounds like like you are losing the connection just checked on my QB can't see any buffer level like on my NDX.

Just go to iradio, choose BBC and then your channel. If you pick R4, the 339 HLS is the first one.

Try running an Ethernet cable to the Qb - odds on this will fix it.

I've been having problems with the BBC HD feed on my N272 & more recently Muso OB(long) but interesting never on my Muso QB in the Kitchen
almost never had a radio drop out with any other feed or TIDAL so there is something curious with the BBC HD.

see previous thread --> https://forums.naimaudio.com/to...with-bbc-hd-stations

Archers at 7pm on R4 is especially infuriating usually drops out after a few minutes, but if I've had it on for say 10 mins prior its usually Ok. given up with that and listen on demand (oh yes on demand has never failed)

worst thing is that when it happens on the N272, will not play any other station, or media not even my local USB thumb drive ....until either it recovers after a few minutes or a spare Aux channel is selected for 30 seconds.
I'd point the finger at my network / router if it wasn't only the BBC HD .. LINN Jazz, paradise, Naim stations & standard BBC offering etc will stay locked all day

its the same on either wired or wireless.  The QB is wireless on the same network, so I think that handles any errors in a more consistent manner
