NAC102 - CD input stopped working

Posted by: tonybabawalla on 10 January 2017

The CD input has just stopped working - no sound at all. Plug the lead into the Tuner input and it works fine. Has anyone got any ideas about this please?! A NAC 102 is worth about £325 now, and I bet a service is £250 so it doesn't seem worth it. Thank you for any replies given!

Worth having it checked out just in case it's a very easy fix like a loose connection inside the input which could be a cheap repair. Any more than that, and as you say, it might not be worthwhile, especially if it's old enough to need a recap.

There are 6 inputs on the NAC102 so you can connect your cd player on any other input if available. That does not cost a penny and you still have a remote controlled Naim preamp that beat a 72

It may cost almost as much to fix it as it would to buy a new to you one, but.

It it may be much cheaper than

1- buying a newer product that sounds as good to you

2- therapy sessions because the music you like is gone.
