Uniti core recommended back up

Posted by: Gazza on 15 January 2017

I have a uniti core on order hopefully to collect next week? I have  a seagate 4 TB drive which my dealer will install, but would appreciate any recommendations on a back up drive. I am not a computer whizz and really only want to plug n play and not mess about with Microsoft windows. Just be able to use the naim app from iPad and back up from there. Any suggestion appreciated

two choices

plug in a usb drive on the rear socket.

or backup to a network drive (on a computer, on a nas or whatever)

either will work

given that a single backup is not a backup, why not do both?

Jon, the Core supports backup to an attached usb drive? That'll be much easier than the backup to nas that on the uServe frustrated almost everyone trying to set it up the first time.

At this point, how if at all does it support backing up from a user's Downloads folder on an internal hdd? I thought I read that, at this time, that's not supported.  Understanding this is a fluid thing as the software and features aren't fully baked. , ,

Yes

Whether this is the best solution for you will depend entirely on your data strategy.

I bought the naim recommended seagate drive in their FAQ on website, it was £125 on amazon, it's a quiet video drive
