Issues with HDX Internet Radio Beta Testing
Posted by: Purple66 on 29 July 2011
Are there any tester who have managed to get the ISO disc image for SW Version 1.6 from the download link provided from Naim?
I tried the download under MAC and under Windows in in both cases I found no iso file.
Recommendations to solve this issue are welcome.

Hi, please have a look in the email from Steven. You should burn a disk with directory "upgrade" with ZIP File included. No ISO image. It works and I enjoy the internet radio with my hdx.

Hi!
Thank's for that input. I will have a try tomorrow.
Do you know if control via n-serve App will work after the upgrade?
Best regards

I have burned 3 discs using a folder upgrade with and without the quotations which has the zip file in that folder. None seem to kick off update process
Any help

I am having the same result as Tylercoupe, not sure what else to try. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Create a folder on your desktop called "upgrade" and put the zip file in it.
Burn the folder to a disc.
Put it in the HDX and wait until it ejects.
Wait a little while and the upgrade will start. The cd tray will retract. Eventually the home page disc will appear in the display. Put the machine into standby and wait for it to power off. Switch off and back on at the mains switch and wait for it to re-start.
Enjoy.

N-Serve works with the upgrade.

Does the folder name have quotations
I did this although the folder was in documents
The HDX reads for about 10 seconds and then opens
No upgrade process starts

No quotes. upgrade all lower case.
I was using a Mac but can't see I did anything spectacularly different to what I would do on a PC.

Make sure you are using the latest release software before trying the Beta.
That might be it.

I guess I will need to wait and talk to steve
I have the latest sp2 software. I have tried with and without quotes. I updated the desktop controller fine
Used Mac and pc to no avail. Have gone through 8 GDR.
Will stop and just listen

Happy to see this topic, I will try the upgrade this weekend also. Do you guys mean you should burn the .zip file into the directory called "upgrade" or do I have to unzip the file and burn the various unzipped files instead??

Michel

Instructions say burn the zip
Has not worked for me
I don't want to risk putting individual files in
Posted on: 29 July 2011 by Klout10
IMHO somehow it seems to make sense to unzip and burn the individual files, it would be nice if someone could confirm this...

Just put the zip file in the folder. Don't unzip it first.

I have the SP2 update Which version number is most up to date? Mine shows 1.5a
Posted on: 30 July 2011 by hifi_fan
1.5a SP2 should be ok. Please check if burnt CD have Folder "upgrade" with ZIP File in it.
I burnt my CD with an iMac and have had the problem that 1st try was without the Folder "upgrade".
The upgrade CD was in my HDX < 1 min.

Hi Bruce,
Most recent software is 1.5a SP2. The upgrade went just as described in the manual; it took about a minute to read the disc. After several seconds, the home menu disappeared and a please wait sign is shown on the display. After approximately ten minutes the unit will restart...

Michel

Looks like it is working, I just burned the CD with a different utility.

Eureka, and it sounds very good too.
I like the new DTC back up options and the fact I don't have to run it is 'Administrator' any more.

Where can I get this upgrade from?
Posted on: 30 July 2011 by Bruce Woodhouse
It has been given to a bunch of us to Beta test. I'm sure the main launch is not far off

Cheers. How does iRadio sound from the HDX?
