How to identify Naim speaker cables?

How can we distinguish a white NAC A4 from a white NAC A5?

Somebody sold me a pair of white cables printed in black "naim audio" plus a direction arrow on the side (and not between the cables) as used NAC A5.

Did the A4 ever had the printed marks on the side?

Thanks once again for the help

Yes, NACA5 used to have printing on the edge rather than between the conductors.  Trouble was it would often eventually rub off if the cables were moved around a lot.  Otherwise it is the same as it has always been.

NACA4 and NACA5 are easy to tell apart mainly because the sheathing is totally different - NACA4 is reasonably pliant whereas NACA5 feels harder to the touch and is much stiffer - more like nylon than PVC.

A5 is really stiff, stick some under your jacket and go to a football match and you'll be arrested for carrying an offensive weapon. A4 is flexible.

Since I'm about to buy Nac A5 too, is there fake Nac A5 on the market? I mean serious amounts of Chinese produced fake?

I'm not really concerned indeed, I have a proper Naim dealer who gives good advice.

This morning I suddenly ran into a pair of fake B&W 800 series speakers. It was pretty bizar - I've informed B&W.

So that is the background of my post - I understood the doubt one can have.

Be careful out there, they have been known to lurk around corners and supermarket aisles.
