Many thanks, Phil, I've now got an HDX here, and it works exactly as you described, and album art is magically retrieved, too! It's quite nice, really. I'm still curious how this actually works with WAV files - presumably the HDX hold its own database, separate from the metadata files on the Core (and possibly also separate from the metadata on its own HDD)?
