That vinyl feelin'

Hello,
I've been back into vinyl for nearly 2 years now, and I had about half a dozen records from my wife's youth that I had ignored. Reasons for ignoring include the horrible covers (falling apart), lack of interest, or level of frustration with the overplaying of said album/songs.
Whatever the reason they were overlooking, so I decided to clean them up, provide them with inner and outer liners and spin them. Let me tell you up front that when I go through old records and clean them up and hear them its such an amazing experience, almost like I've saved something...not a human life but I've experienced something that has been dead and hidden for many years, and by hearing it again or for the first time I've done some sort of archaeology.
A tidbit: These albums were reportedly *not* my wife's but a roommate she had at some point named Stephanie. Stephanie clearly liked to rock!
1. Jethro Tull - Aqualung. MS-2035, 1971
This was one I thought was all scratched up but played well. The sound is good on the record, but holy shit on the chorus when there is that compressed sound to the voice "Sun streaking cold, an old man wandering lonely" WOW this sounded like it drilled into my brain, never heard it like this before, amazing. The clarity and sharpness of that part is jaw dropping.
Not too much noise, can crank it!
2. Iron Butterfly - Ina-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. SD 33-250, 1968
Um...the record itself is a bit crackly, but not unbearable. Very quiet recording, muffled some. Really side one, real hippy stuff.
3. Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath. BS 2695, 1974
Cover split, only held together by outer sleeve. Very low volume. Sounds really old and scratched up...nearly gave up on song 1, side 1 the scratches were so bad but it cleared up and go to be reasonable. Some great stuff in there, poorest quality I've got yet, though. But remember I had given up on these and was going to throw them away.
4. Boston - Boston - Epic 34188, 1976
Best one of the bunch, cranked it...loud crisp, analogy, this is what vinyl is all about wooo!
All of these are a no sale probably based on their sleeves, but most of them are a keep for sure. It took two years to methodically get through to these especially since I've been buying new vinyl for the last 2 years at record pace.
More to come, I have some more I ignored...again some just because they are played out on the radio or they look like hell from the outside.
P.S. My wife is now claiming the Boston is hers, and not Stephanie's.
