Naim CD 3 - 2Q

I recently dug this out from my loft - and it still works. Not sure if it would benefit from a service - it does seem to sound a bit 'polite'. Also, can I connect it directly to my Naim headphone amp, by passing the pre amp altogether?

I believe the usual advice from Naim is that CD players shouldn't be serviced unless absolutely necessary due to the risk of damage during shipping, so unless you live within driving distance of a service centre, maybe best to leave it. Has it had plenty of time to warm up?

I wouldn't service it until it breaks.

Naim Headline needs a pre-amp to function. Technically speaking it's not a traditional headphone amp - it realies on a NAC circuitry and works with it. It also needs a separate power supply - NAPSC or higher.

You can connect a Headline directly using a Headline adaptor - this reverses the pin connection so the Headline can take signal straight from a source component.
