Powering a Stageline in an olive system

I am using a Stageline N in an olive 82/hicap/250 system and am currently using an iSupply to power the Stageline but would like to raise the performance level without putting an extra Flatcap2 in the stack.  Can I power the Stageline from the olive hicap or the 82?  I no longer have the Stageline manual and looking at the backs of the 82/hicap doesn't suggest an obvious connection path.

No, you can't.

Out of interest, why are you not using the internal boards? They are highly likely to sound better than an i-supply powered Stageline.

I agree , i supply is just for stageline use in non Naim systems or non powered Naim's own

no more than that ,performance is wanting at best.

nac82 is great with vinyl why not using it the way it was conceived ,it a bit o a mistery..

Thanks guys.  I am using the Stageline at least temporarily because I wasn't sure if the 82 had the boards, or if it did, if they were moving coil.  I put some RCA/BNC adaptors on the audio cable from the old Rega P2 I am using (obviously a weak match for the rest of the system and something I intend to rectify) and ran them into the 82's phono input and I could hear the music just faintly through the speakers.  The signal was much more faint than when I I used the Stageline.

I know the original owner of the 82 and have reached out to see if it has the boards...

The faint sound you heard probably meant that the NAC82 didn't have phono boards fitted - instead, line level boards.  For a MM cartridge you need to fit NA522 boards.

A-ha!  Dumb question - does the presence of line level boards mean I can run a Stageline into the phono input using a DIN to RCA cable?

Yes. But you would be better off using the 4pin to 5pin interconnect from the Stageline to any DIN input on the 82

Okay, I will keep doing that then.  I have been running the Stageline into the Aux input using a DIN to DIN cable.  Thanks for all the input everybody.
