well I know this has been covered but after 2 years with a cdx2 with xps2 I opted to buy a cds3, threw on fleetmac rumours and.....

to be honest there's no comparison cds3 is remarkable right across all ranges if I could describe it in one word it would be realistic,

thats it I'm off to enjoy more music

However, in the context of an ( Xerxes 20 plus), perhaps on the chilly side!

Especially if one is sporting an Cds3, Fender!

Allante93!

Well.- one of a number of factors that persuaded me towards the Xerxes rather than the Scottish TT was the to my ears excessive warmth of the latter!

I'll never forget the first time I heard a CDS3. Magical, beguiling, effortlessly convincing. We had an XPS2 on our CDX2 and the CDS3 head unit was just a matter of time and saving. But we never got there. By far the best CD player I never owned. It's (to my ears) analogous to the difference between the 282 and 252, or the 250 and 300. Some of the wow factor is dialled back and you get a more natural transparency instead. Not everybody likes positively on this transition. As I did not on the CD555. A brilliant player. Impressive in more ways than I thought something could be. Yet I preferred the presentation of the CDS3. Funny old world.
