Strange becomes stranger...

I'm still enjoying the excellent combination of Melco-Naim-Kudos Titans-Sonority  with "full loom" Chord Music cables. It's beyond what I ever thought was possible sound wise but of course it never ends...

Chord Music is a very strange cable. It's "beyond hifi" and just gives a strong (and extremely addictive) sense of being there. No more, no less. Best I've ever heard cable wise. But full loom it wasn't...

Kudos Titans uses Chord Signature links as standard between the top box and isobaric bass. I have used them with Chord Sarum links before which gave an overall better performance for a reasonable cost, but for the last year or so, Signature have been in place.

Now enters Chord Music links for Kudos Titans. 28 cm, twin wired and absolutely stunning. Strange becomes stranger... From a strict objective perspective it's very hard to grasp that that change alone produced so much improvement as it did. And of course the placebo effect is something to consider. But if this is placebo, give me more of that!

The system now sings in a way that's totally unbelievable, every piece building on the strength of the others. Putting that last piece (yeah sure) in place, the Chord Music links, simply made it to the next level. IMHO.

Highly recommended for all you Titans owners out there.

Sounds good Jonas, I'm keen to try Music links once I get to hear the new 707s - assuming they will also require links, that is. Certainly, I completely agree with you wrt ChordMusic.

Hi Dave, not sure links will be needed for 707 since it's a one box design to my knowledge.

Of course you can still use Music speaker cables for the 707 :-)

I expect the 707s will come single wire ready but active ready as well.

I too experienced an inexplicable jump in performance when swapping my NACA5 links for some inexpensive Verteer links - of course at a rather different price point to your experience. This too may have been partly real and partly placebo - or maybe 100% placebo, who knows. But as I hear of similar effects from others, it does make you wonder if the introduction of some piddly bits of wire at the very end of the chain can really make such a difference. As you say, we are getting closer to a proper full loom with the introduction of the links (it has been suggested that Verteer make SL cables which I have elsewhere). Next (and final?) step towards full loomage, upgrading the internal wiring of our speakers!

Has anyone else found a significant difference with a change of links? Come on….come out of the closet!

I’m glad to hear that you are enjoying your lovely system, Jonas!

Unfortunately I was able to demo the Chord Music DIN-DIN cable in a NDS/555PS - NAC252 – NAP250DR system at the Swedish distributor 2 months ago.

Not the “full loom”, just the DIN-DIN between NDS and NAC252, but the difference between SuperLumina and Chord Music was surprisingly big. I was really impressed and can only imagine what a “full loom” will do to a system. Very musical indeed!

It’s out of my budget so perhaps I should have turned the offer down to hear it but my curiosity took the better of me. It’s at least nice to have heard it and get a rough understanding of what these cables is capable of.

If I could afford any Chord Music cables it may well be the links for my Titans but I doubt it would make sense in my system…

It was a wise move to “downgrade” your Sarum links to Chord Signature links before you changed to the Music links. Bigger step ==> easier to hear the difference ==> easier to convince yourself that you made the right move…

Thanks for sharing your insights Jonas.  I upgraded my Kudos Titan links to the Sarum a few years back and they did make a difference.  Have not heard the Chord Music cables yet.  I replaced one of my DIN5 Sarum Tuned Aray with the Naim Super Lumina,  which was significantly better.  I still use a 4-5DIN STA and DIN-XLR STA, but I suspect they will be replaced down the line with the Super Lumina.

I currently run Chord Music between my Urika and 552 and prior to that installation had the chance to listen to it between the Klimax DS and 552.  It is truly an amazing cable - Enough said!

Sarum vs SL, its about preference. Music is better, no matters how you slice it. To these ears at least. Just wanted to share my findings.

Have fun! Now, back to the Music...
