I heard Deezer at my Naim dealer, played via Sonos Connect (un-modified, I believe) into Naim DAC/282/250 - very impressive!

The problem for me is that nothing I play through my own un-modded Sonos Connect into Naim DAC/555/552/500, including local AIFF rips, sounds as good as Spotify through my Squeezebox Touch or NDX, into the same system.

The need to use the Connect for Deezer in the USA is a deal-breaker, for me.

What device are you using, Graham?  It is possible I got a bad Connect.  Haven't had a chance to try a different one in my system.

That sounds fishy.

So, a Sonos Connect for Deezer and Spotify?  I stopped using my Connect back when I had a 112/150/FC2X and an M-Audio DAC.  SBT and Mac Mini both beat it.  Later I tried in my current setup -- same result.

It's perhaps worth clarifying here that Deezer have a lossless streaming service called Deezer Elite, but this is only available to Sonos users, unfortunately. If Naim supported Deezer Elite, I'm pretty sure it would be a better option than Tidal.

Hi yes that's correct so all I can do at the moment is use the sonos into the naim to achieve the lossless .

Thing is I guess when MQA is readily available then naim may embed the app into there gear , and thus I need to change it all again.

Mind you sonos connect into the naim is for now a more than adequate solution until maybe naim embed the app , and deezer offers them the elite option.

My guess is that the naim with deezer elite must be better than the sonos ?

Deezer is a good service but 44.1/16 only available via SONOS I think. In the beginning one could purchase year or two at a time at 1/2 the cost of TIDAL. Dropped Deezer... can only justify one service but very much liked it. Wish it was integrated to Naim. Two Gold Phantoms...$7k all in + Deezer....hmmmmm.
