For 4 months now I have a Naim NDX, sounds great, except for some random tick/noise. This tick/noise is best described as a needle produces on a record with a turntable.
It's totally random, but persists more if I have the Naim App open on the iPad.
My setup is NDX -> (din-din) -> NAC202 -> HiCap -> NAP200, Network part; QNAP TP-231 or Raspberry PI 3 both with Asset Upnp -> Cisco 2960 -> NDX (the RPI3 reads music stream from the QNAP).
I have already tried the ground / floating switch, doesn't change the issue. If I use Tidal as source on the NDX the problem also persists.
Someone ideas? Or is it just the NDX has a problem? An internal memory bank which is failing or some sort of thing...
Looking forward to responses and ideas...

Yes everything is wired. There is a access point where the iPad connects to the LAN. Access point -> TP-Link 3424 <-> Cisco 2960 <- QNAP (or RPI3) / NDX
Other source is a CD player. There is no ticking when playing a CD with it. Therefore I believe it's the NDX or the network with a problem.
Strange however is that the ticking increases with a active connection from the iPad app (Naim) with the NDX. I assume the webserver on the NDX is using CPU time when its being addressed but that should not be hearable...

Erik I flagged this for tech sport, however, you might wish to contact to them directly by email just in case it's missed or it takes some time to get on to this thread.

I have the same problem since last weeks. The clicks are random and happens mid tracks.
Tried turning off and on the NDX and the problem went away. Not sure why but will monitor. Would appreciate any suggestion to isolate it.

Last night I factory reset the NDX (did this before without success to the issue) and right after that I disabled the Multi-room feature.
I played music with the Naim app open on the iPad for about 2 hours without one tick or click. Looks positive but I'm skeptical. The ticks always get more frequent over time.
So far so good, fingers crossed.
I will update after the weekend on the status.
